CHILDREN OF CHINA PEDIATRICS FOUNDATION SURGICAL MISSIONS

CHILDREN OF
CHINA PEDIATRICS
FOUNDATION
OUR MISSION
The mission of Children of China Pediatrics
Foundation is to provide direct medical
treatment for disabled children in China’s
orphanages. As a not-for-profit, non-partisan
organization, we send pediatric medical
teams from the United States to China to
perform surgeries on orphans to correct
disfiguring birth defects and disabilities.
SURGICAL MISSIONS
CCPF’s medical teams have performed
hundreds of surgeries and medical procedures
on orphaned children from all over China
including the provinces of Anhui, Anwei,
Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu,
Jiangxi, Jilin, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Sichuan and
Zhejiang. We perform orthopedic, plastic,
urological and general pediatric surgeries to
correct conditions such as spina bifida, polio,
cerebral palsy, tuberculosis of the spine, cleft lip
and palate, eye strabismus, webbed hands and
club foot. The children we operate on range
in age from infants to adolescents. Every
mission includes training for local hospital staff.
THE CHILDREN IN CHINA’S
ORPHANAGES
EDUCATION, REHABILITATION
AND OTHER PROGRAMS
Today, there are hundreds of thousands of
children living in orphanages throughout
China. While even the healthiest of orphaned
children face tremendous obstacles, the future
for those with disabilities is far more bleak.
Although, their conditions are often
correctable, these children are unlikely to
receive surgery. Most will never be adopted,
and some do not survive at all.
TANGIBLE RESULTS
In just an hour or two, a doctor can change the
life of a child forever. Almost immediately,
we can see how a life has been transformed.
Because we provide on-site medical services,
your donation goes directly for the care and
treatment of children with disabilities.
• Visiting Scholar Program—we provide
scholarships for Chinese medical professionals
from orphanages and hospitals to come to the
United States to study and learn new techniques
• Rehabilitation—The Spagnoletti Rehabilitation
program provides training, including speech,
physical and occupational therapy for orphanage
staff and foster parents of orphaned children with
special needs, such as cerebral palsy
• Gift Surgeries—we bring children to
hospitals in the United States to correct
conditions that require extremely complex
medical procedures
• Medical Equipment—we underwrite the cost
of much needed medical equipment in Chinese
orphanage hospitals, such as anesthesia
machines and monitoring equipment
