Marsavion Turk is a very energetic and active three year
old who always manages to bring smiles to everyone around him. He is the
son of Tanika and Marcus Turk and has a diagnosis of Down Syndrome. He
receives occupational, physical, and speech therapies at the Kenny Rogers
Children’s Center. Marsavion enjoys imitating sounds and words while
completing a variety of activities including blowing bubbles, playing ball,
playing with farm animals, and simple counting games. With a mischievous
smile, he is always on the go and keeping his therapists on the run. The sky
is the limit for Marsavion’s future and we can’t wait to be a part of it!
Landry Priggel
is an adorable 2 year-old who loves to give
kisses, but don’t let that smile fool you! She is as cute as she is stubborn and
she keeps all of her therapists on their toes! Landry is one of four daughters
to Joey and Heather Priggel of Portageville. Landry is a twin who was born
prematurely and contracted group-B strep and spinal meningitis shortly after
birth. This has delayed Landry’s development of motor and speech skills.
Everyone was so proud the day that Landry took her first steps and now she
and her three sisters are all on the move keeping their parents very busy! Since
beginning therapy at the Center, Landry has made great progress and there is
nothing but more great things for Landry in the future!
Bailey Brown
is a sweet and energetic 5 year old that has been
coming to the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center since she was a baby. Bailey is
the daughter of Candace Brown and she came to the Center with a diagnosis
of brachial plexus injury. This injury happens during delivery and damages
the nerves that supply Bailey’s right arm. Bailey has received physical and
occupational therapy over the past five years and the therapists have had the
opportunity to watch Bailey grow and increase the function and use of her right
arm. Bailey loves to explore and learn new things! Whether she is working on
a new painting for her mom, completing puzzles, or even strength training, she
is always keeping the therapists challenged! Bailey’s desire to be independent
continues to drive her toward making gains in therapy and everyday life!
Riley Montgomery
is the 5 year old daughter of Crystal and
Frank Montgomery of Zalma. She is a little girl with a big heart and is full of
imagination. She is always ready to play cooking or pretend she is shopping at
the store. A southern girl at heart, she enjoys everything sweet and pink! Riley has
a diagnosis of cerebral palsy and was referred to the Center after her baclophen
pump was implanted last year in St. Louis. The baclophen pump helps decrease
the stiffness in Riley’s legs and she required intensive therapy following the
implantation to maximize the benefits. She has made great progress towards
this goal. She is walking with more independence each day and she requires less
bracing and assistance from her walker. Anything Riley puts her mind to, she will
achieve and her determination is inspirational to us all!
Kalub Rowley is the son of Bri Baker of East Prairie, Missouri.
He is an adventurous and imaginative 8 year-old boy who has a diagnosis of
Aspergers Syndrome. Kalub has received occupational therapy for a year and
a half at the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center. Kalub loves all things Legos
and Indiana Jones and also participates in boy scouts. He has made great
progress through therapy while improving performance and independence at
school and home. Here at the Center, we have all watched Kalub’s progress
and know that his future is very bright!
