God Gathers Us For Worship
Prelude:
Music in Preparation for Worship
Welcome, Life and Work of the Congregation
Call to Worship:*
Leader: Make a joyful noise to the Lord.
People: Worship God with gladness.
Leader: Come into God’s presence with singing.
People: We are God’s people, the sheep of God’s pasture.
Leader: Give thanks to the Lord; bless God’s holy name,
People: for God’s steadfast love is present now and endures forever.
Hymn: #567VU*
“Will You Come and Follow Me”
Opening Prayer: (in unison)
Tender, comforting Shepherd, your steadfast love is present in this
place and resides within each of us. But sometimes it is hard, so very
hard, to open ourselves to your love. We feel like scattered sheep,
frightened and alone. Help us know your loving presence as we live as
your gathered community. Enlighten our hearts, that we may know the
hope to which we have been called. Amen.

Message:
“Call to Action”
Hymn*
“O Let Us Spread the Pollen of Peace”
Refrain:
O let us spread the pollen of peace throughout our land, let us spread the
pollen of peace throughout our land; let us spread the pollen of peace and
make all conflict cease; let us spread the pollen of peace throughout our
land.
O Christ has sown the seeds of love; O Christ has launched the winged
dove; let us make the flower grow, and let the people know that Christ
has sown the seeds of love. Refrain
All it needs is our love to make it grow; all it needs is our hopefulness to
show and tell those who are choked with fear that the Prince of peace is
here. All it needs is our love to make it grow. Refrain

The gifts of this world will not last past our lifetimes, but God’s gifts to
us—and our gifts to God—will last through this life and beyond.

Praise God, all creatures high and low;
Give thanks to God in love made known:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil:
for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,
for ever and ever. Amen
Hymn#649 VU*

Guess Who Is Coming To Dinner? To allow us all to get to know Jeff Smith better,
in a more intimate setting and in good United Church tradition over food, a series
of dinner parties have been ongoing. If you are willing to host a few people and
Jeff in your home for dinner or want to participate by bringing some food, please
sign up at the back of the church. Hosts will be responsible for providing the main
course and attendees will bring an appetizer, salad or dessert. Jeff has some food
sensitivities so a listing of these is available at the back of the sanctuary. So join
the fun and come to dinner. Jeff has some food sensitivities. He can't eat: Gluten, cow's
milk or milk products, raw fruits or vegetables with seeds or skins, seeds or nuts, mushrooms,
fish or seafood, cilantro Jeff can eat lots of other things. He can eat: all meats, almond or soy
milk, peeled carrots, broccoli, squash, lettuce, beets, peeled potatoes, rice, oats, soy, yogurt,
goat and sheep's cheeses, all peeled fruits.

Along with the much needed food, we have a special need for

Christmas List. You can drop items off at St. Paul’s Parish Hall
on Tuesdays from 9 – 11 am or contact Linda Lindsay.
Pre-Authorised Remittance (PAR) is a simple, efficient way to
give regularly to the church. It allows you to specify what you
want to give to the church monthly and then automatically
makes the donation to the church on the 20th of each month.
No need to deal with envelopes cash, cheques or remember which
Sundays you were at church. It also simplifies bookkeeping at the church.
If you would like to try this, please see Joan Smith and/or pick up a
brochure in the rack at the back of the church. Thank you so much for all
you do for Grace!
Nancy Sherwin’s comment: “Nancy likes PAR because her giving to
the church continues whether she's away or not. She can plan her
givings for the year and then sit back and let PAR do its work. She
uses PAR cards to put into the donation plate to let people know
she contributes through PAR.”
The Accessibility Project is moving along well and we look
forward to its completion. We want to thank Wayne
Roberts and Clare Pearce for their continued diligence in
overseeing it on a daily basis.
More importantly, we want to THANK ALL OF YOU for making it happen!
Your monetary support through fundraisers and donations have made it
possible to receive other grants, allowing the project become a reality.
For those wishing to, donations are still being accepted for the project.
As well, if you previously made a pledge and have not yet fulfilled your
commitment, now would be the ideal time to do so! Your continued
consideration of this project is greatly appreciated.
We wait with great anticipation to announce the opening of the new
facilities. Stay tuned!
