The fourth edition of CITI-NCPA Aadi Anant festival seeks to celebrate the vitality of the Guru-Shishya tradition. It will showcase
celebrated Gurus of vocal and instrumental music with their prominent shishyas as a testimony to the perpetuation of our ageold cultural legacy. The Festival will feature works that are deeply embedded in the tradition, and yet seek to reach out in to the
infinite realms of creativity, inspired by the changing sociocultural milieu in which the next generation of the artistes are being
groomed.
Rashid Khan and his disciple Prasad Khaparde represent Rampur-Sahaswan gharana, in which the musical expression
is also influenced by string instruments like rudravina and sursingar. The duo will present, individually and together,
compositions created and immortalised by the stalwarts of Rampur-Sahaswan gharana.
Other artists supporting the duo are, Jyoti Guha, Murad Ali Khan and Shubhnkar Banerjee.

A play on Mata Hari, who has been a figure of intrigue on the mindset of Indians for years due to her flamboyant and tragic

Madras Players and Stray Factory Present Animal Farm – a Play in English.
Animal Farm is based on George Orwell's classic and allegorical novel, by the same name. The play adapted by Peter Hall
dramatizes the revolution of animals on a farm to overthrow their drunk and cruel master on Manor Farm. Pigs assume power,
Horses build windmills and Chickens lead revolts. Animal farm has been described as the quintessential satire on politics and
society which worryingly holds good even today. The play is put together by Madras Players and Stray Factory and it is directed by
Mathivanan Rajendran.

The Park's New Festival
The Park's New Festival is India's only private contemporary performance arts festival. This festival is held in
collaboration with the Prakriti Foundation and this year, it is into its eight edition.
K Two – Improvised dance performance based on a video game character
K Two is an improvised performance based on the character of Madame K (multimedia choreographic solo 2004). Two
dancers explore the limits of the movements of video game characters executed by human bodies. As in street performances, this piece plays out the

Mr.Vijaya Kumar, Master craftsman at DakshinaChitra will introduce the Kalamkari the art of painting on f
abrics with vegetable dyes. The dyes are taken from natural material like barks, leaves, roots and flowers most

Dakshinachitra is organizing a day workshop on Design the waste on 22nd Nov 2014 from 9.30 am to 3.00 pm.
The workshop will teach to design and make products by recycling used paper and plastics. Participants will get to
make pen holders and flower pots out of plastic pet bottles and decorative handmade gift wrappers out of recycled

The Dusk to Dawn Chennai Marathon 2014 is going to be held on November 22, 2014.
It is the first night marathon hosted by the city. It was born out of an understanding that there is
a lack of awareness among people about liver diseases, liver wellness and organ
donation. The event is organized by Centre for Liver Disease and Transplantation (CLDT), Apollo Hospitals,
Neville Bilimoria who is a rower, runner and cyclist who has been using these sporting activities to raise funds
and spread awareness about deserving charities and Love Your Liver Foundation (LYLF) is a not-for-profit
organisation started with the aim of promoting liver health. The foundation encourages research into the causes
for diagnosis, prevention and treatment of liver disease and
advocates organ and tissue donation.The categories for running are 3 km, 5 km, 10 km and 21 km.
