ABOUT THE SUMMIT
Maharashtra has been in the forefront in sustaining industrial growth and in creating an environment conducive to economic
development. Investment-friendly industrial policies, excellent infrastructure and a strong and productive human resource base
have made it a favoured destination for the manufacturing, export, distribution and financial service sectors. Furthermore, the
State has focused on the development of industrial and social infrastructure. Maharashtra's economic growth can provide
significant contribution in the development of the nation.
Despite many achievements, a number of projects are yet to take off. Sick industries are to be revived, steps are to be taken for
provision of adequate social and physical infrastructure, skill development amongst young generation and entrepreneurial
education. The sustainable growth initiative will encourage Maharashtra to improve governance, Raise educational standards,
Control inflation, introduce a credible fiscal policy, liberalise financial markets, Increase trade with other states, Increase
agricultural productivity Improve Infrastructure and Environment which will facilitate Maharashtra to become an investment
friendly state.
Eminent personalities from various fields will address the Summit to impart knowledge and provide information about the need for
development and suggest solutions to the hindrances that hampers the progress of Maharashtra in retaining its position as an
attractive destination for investment, industrialisation and other business activities. This summit will help to chart out a plan for

MAHARASHTRA INDUSTRIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION (MIEDA) is a leading organisation of the
