How to get from the airport to the city centre
There are various ways to get to centre from the airport.
1.
Airport Express: The Express takes you directly to Dortmund Hbf. The travel time is approx.
25 minutes and costs 7 euros. Children under 14 pay 2 euros, children under 6 travel fee.
The Express stops right at the exit of the airport and runs once every hour.

2. Take Bus 440 to Aplerbeck. The route takes approx. 14 minutes and you can use it with a

route takes approx. 22 minutes and you can use it with public transportation tickets.

A. Westfalenpark
A beautiful park where you can enjoy silence and tranquility. The place is not crowded with
people maybe because there is an entrance fee of €4. The park is housing the German
Rosarium with over 3,000 roses, thereby making it the third-largest collection in the world,
and the botanic garden Rombergpark with around 4,500 different kinds of trees.
In the park you’ll find the Florianturm, the Dortmund TV Tower. It is the best sightseeing

A. Reichstag
Built in 1894, after ten years of construction. On 27 February 1933 under mysterious
circumstances the Reichstag caught on fire, destroying the chamber and the dome. After

C. Branderburg Gate
While the only remaining city gate of Berlin formerly used to represent the separation of
the city between East and West Berlin, since the Berlin Wall came down in 1989 the
Brandenburg Gate has now come to symbolise German unity. In addition, this gate made
of sandstone is one of the finest examples of German classicism.

D. Gendarmenmarkt
The Gendarmenmarkt is one of the most stunning squares in the city, located close to
Friedrichstraße, Berlin’s exclusive shopping street in the central Mitte district. Three of the
most impressive examples of architecture in the capital city are to be found here: the
Concert House designed by Schinkel and the German and French Cathedrals.

E. Unter den Linden
Going back as far as the 19th century, the „Linden” was Berlin’s most glamorous central
boulevard, perfect for promenading and strolling. Nowadays, the boulevard is as charming
as ever and home to buildings such as the Humboldt University, the German Historical
Museum, the German Cathedral and the State Opera.
