Historical Backround: Company Profile
H. H. Furnishings was founded in 1967 as
HouseHold Furnishings Ltd. Following the Turkish
invasion in 1974, the company was forced to cease
operations. In 1977 H. H. Furnishings was formed
with the goal to play a leading role in the Cypriot
Furniture Industry.
In 1981 the company creates its first line of
kitchens with the name “Prima Kitchens”.
Production of the Prima kitchens line was based on
European Systems and Standards. The production
of kitchens grew exponentially and in 1983 H. H.
Furnishings becomes the first Cypriot company to
export kitchens in Saudi Arabia. Its first project was
to manufacture 700 kitchens within six months,
many other projects followed.
After the completion of the upgrade plan, H. H.
Furnishings became one of the most efficient
companies in Cyprus. The management and
the highly skilled personnel in all departments is
determined to move the company a step further.
The modern technology which is applied in both
administrative and production procedures aim
in reducing production costs while enhancing
the quality of what the company offers. The
investment in high technology machines has not
only improved its production quality but also
allowed the company to manufacture, besides
kitchens, custom made wardrobes and doors.
H. H. Furnishings Ltd is the agent of Julius Blum
GmbH, the leader furniture kitchen manufacturer.
Further, the company represents in Cyprus Schuco
Design, Germany also a leader in the aluminum
manufacturing Industry.
When Cyprus entered the EU many things changed
in the market. With the liberalization of the local
market the Cypriot Furniture Industry was faced
with significant threads as well as opportunities.
Imported kitchen furniture entered the market,
leading to intense competition. In order to keep
up with competing brands H. H. Furnishings made
large capital investments so as to make a new
modern and technologically upgraded factory,
offering customers better quality and variety of
choices. At the same time the company, recruited
qualified people in the departments of design and
technology.

living. All client orders are designed and presented in three-dimensional

Production Process
The production process initiates from the sales
department. The client in consultation with the
seller decides on the final design of the kitchen
cabinet or any other structure. Once the project
is digitally finalised using specialised design
software, the project is presented to the client.
Upon approval, a contract is signed between the
company and the client; further specifying the
type of materials, the design aspects, time frames
of completion and any other aspect related to
the project at hand.
The responsible technician prepares and forwards
production forms to the production team. The
production manager allocates responsibility and
tasks to the various departments and proceeds
with monitoring and controlling the production
procedures involved.
It is not an easy task trying to match styles and trends with new furniture in
an existing interior layout of a house, and that’s why the personal approach
is essential. Particular angles, sizes, colour schemes and materials are what
these customers desire, and Prima Kitchens always manages to respond to

The last step is the assembly and integration of the
product that is made by the assembly department
in collaboration with the quality control team.

Quality Control Procedures
The high quality standards set by the company,
demand consistent attention throughout the
various production processes. The Quality
Control Department was formed with the sole
responsibility of thoroughly applying the quality
control tests to all products, prior to delivery.
Upon completion of any product (kitchen,
cupboard or any other structure) the assembly
team will set it up to its final form. This process
is taking place in a particular part of the factory,
exclusively dedicated to finished products;
protecting them in this way from potential
damages inside the factory unit. The team will
confirm if the product is in accordance with the
plan agreed with the client, examine its condition
by applying the tests and deciding whether the
product is ready for delivery.
In case of a malfunction or even a single
scratch the product is instantly repaired. The
quality standards are strictly applied in order to
meet highest quality and maximum customer
satisfaction.
Prima Kitchens runs a modern environment and
quality management system based on DIN EN ISO
1400:2009.

IT Use In Business Operations
IT plays an important role in the company’s
operations. The first accounting software of the
company was installed 15 years ago. The SBS
system of CYCOM functioned through a central
server and accessed by users through a single
terminal. Besides the accounting software, a stock
taking and payroll system were also installed at
the time.
The management of the company, realising
the important role of technology in today’s
competitive market, decided to upgrade the
entire structure of its information systems.
In 2011 the company upgraded all computer
software to the latest versions available. The
accounting, warehouse and payroll systems
are now operating in Windows using ORACLE;
the most trusted and broadly used database
platform. The various parameters and possibilities
available on this user-friendly software enabled
the company to increase its overall efficiency. The
management is now able to monitor the company
activity at various stages and take immediate
decisions regarding development, while enriching
its overall business intelligence.
The company acquired a new server and linked all
systems to it, enabling in this way the secure and
efficient exchange of information while providing
easy access to past archives.

service. KPS Design Studio is one if the software
used in the design department, which allows the
creation of realistic 3-Dimensional renderings of

Environmental Contribution
The company is fully compliant with all applicable
Cypriot and EU environmental legislations. Due
to the nature of the business, the company
recognizes its duty towards the environment and
constantly invests in new methods of preventing
and managing pollution. Waste is kept at a
minimum and it’s legitimately managed according
to established permits.
The new fuel-efficient machines are equipped
with various absorbers that reduce the emission
of dust and the exhaust emissions of the forklifts.
The machines are economical both in fuel &
electricity.
The use of low-emission water-base lacquer
systems contribute significantly to the reduction
of emission. Another important advantage offered
