Best Practices Update – Churning!!!
Churning refers to repeated cancelling and rebooking of the same itinerary in the same or different class of service across
one or more PNRs or GDS/CRSs. Churning is often done to circumvent ticketing time limits and change the booking class /
flight. Eg : Changing from higher class to lower class or vice versa.
As per the airline this practice in totally unacceptable as it blocks seats from other Service Providers dis-servicing
customers. Your compliance with all booking and ticketing requirements is requested. Failure to do so will result in
cancellation of all existing bookings, with appropriate cost recovery, penal action and/or blocked inventory by the airlines.
"Churning" is not permitted for any reason including, without limitation, to circumvent or extend ticketing time limits, to
hold inventory, or to find a fare, or carry forward special remarks from one itinerary to another.

Passengers with Umrah visa must be booked and ticketed on JED & MED flights only and not on other Saudi flights i.e.,
DMM and RUH. This includes customers with onwards to JED/MED via RUH/DMM. However, there is no such restriction on
GCC nationals.

Revised Reporting and Check in Times
PIA is revising its reporting and check-in times for all airports, to avoid delays due to security measures and to ensure
timely departures.
Please note that reporting time mentioned in flyer for all airports in Pakistan, However, Dubai & Sharjah reporting time
would be 03 hours before flight.
All agents are advised to please brief reporting and check-in times to all passengers and display attached flyer on ticketing
counters to avoid passengers mishandling at airport.
All GSAs to distribute this circular to their BSP IATA agents in their respective territories.
IATA agents are also advised to distribute this circular to all of their non-IATA ticketing / booking agents to avoid any
complaint.

Duplicate Tickets / Voiding Updates
Issuing duplicate tickets, in a PNR, for a passenger, without voiding previously issued tickets, may result in airline debit memos and cancellation of the
reservation.
Please ensure you do *T to confirm that no other ticket has been issued for the selected passenger or segments.
If a duplicate ticket has been issued by error on the same day (as the first ticket), you must void the FIRST (previously) ticket issued.
Note that all tickets can be voided prior to 23:59 local time (11:59 PM) on the same day the ticket was issued
