März 2015 oder 1. April 2015 Stellen für zwei Doktorierende zu besetzen. Das vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds geförderte Projekt untersucht Unterschiede in der Bereitschaft einzelner Länder, durch wirtschaftspolitische, strukturelle und institutionelle Reformen auf nationaler wie europäischer Ebene sowie Transferzahlungen zu einer nachhaltigen Lösung der Eurokrise beizutragen. Dabei steht die Krisenpolitik von Defizitstaaten (z.B. Griechenland, Irland oder Italien) genauso im Fokus wie die von Überschussstaaten (z.B. Deutschland, Niederlande, Finnland). Nähere Informationen zum Projekt finden Sie unter www.stefaniewalter.de. Die Stelle ist auf 3 Jahre befristet und wird mit jährlich 47’590 CHF (1. Jahr), CHF 55190 (2. Jahr) und CHF 56690 (3. Jahr) entlohnt. Ihre Aufgaben umfassen • Mitarbeit im SNF-‐Projekt. Dabei übernehmen Sie die inhaltliche und organisatorische Verantwortung für jeweils eines von zwei Modulen zur Krisenpolitik in Defizitländern respektive Überschussländern. • Durchführung eines Dissertationsprojektes im Rahmen des jeweiligen Moduls. Um eine eigene Profilbildung zu ermöglichen, soll die Dissertation neben projektbezogenen Forschungsarbeiten auch eigenständige Forschung im Themenbereich des jeweiligen Moduls enthalten. • Teilnahme am strukturierten Doktoratsprogramm ‚Political Science’ des Instituts für Politikwissenschaft an der Universität Zürich. • Ab Februar 2016 zusätzlich Lehrtätigkeit im Umfang von 1 SWS pro Semester (wird durch höheren Lohn entschädigt, s.o.). Was wir suchen: • Gute Kenntnisse in den Bereichen Internationale bzw. Vergleichende Politische Ökonomie. Grundkenntnisse in Ökonomie und/oder im Bereich Europäische Integration von Vorteil. • Gute Kenntnisse der Methoden der empirischen Politikwissenschaft. • Engagement, Teamfähigkeit und Fähigkeit zum eigenständigen wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten. • Überdurchschnittlicher Master-‐Abschluss (oder kurz vor dem Master-‐Abschluss) in Politikwissenschaft oder einer verwandten Disziplin (z.B. Verwaltungswissenschaft). • Sehr gute Englischkenntnisse. Deutsch-‐ und weitere europäische Sprachkenntnisse von Vorteil. The research project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation and analyzes the varying willingness of Eurozone countries to contribute to a sustainable resolution of the eurocrisis by implementing economic, structural and institutional reforms on the national and the European level or by granting transfer payments. The project examines crisis politics both in deficit countries (e.g. Greece, Ireland, or Italy) and in surplus countries (e.g. Germany, the Netherlands, or Finland). The three-‐year positions are compensated with CHF 47.590 (1. year), CHF 55.190 (2. year) und CHF 56.690 (3.year) annually (equivalent to between € 39.500 and 47.100 per year). Your tasks: • Collaboration in the SNF research project. You are responsible for research and organizational issues in one of two modules on crisis politics in either deficit or surplus countries. • Writing a dissertation thesis. I order to allow you to develop your own research profile, the dissertation will contain both research directly related to your project work and independent research on the topic of crisis politics in your respective area. • Participation in the Institute of Political Science’s structured doctoral program. • As of February 2016, teaching of one two-‐hour course per year (1 SWS), remunerated by a higher salary, as indicated above. What we look for: • Good knowledge in the fields of International or Comparative Political Economy. Knowledge of Economics and/or European Integration is an asset. • Good knowledge of empirical political science methods. • Motivation, ability to work in a team and to conduct research independently. • Above-‐average MA degree in political science or in a related field (or MA close to completion). • Very good knowledge of English.
