puppy it will automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best Puppy in Show respectively.
Similarly, if the Reserve Best of Breed, Reserve Best of Group or Reserve Best in Show is a puppy which has only
been beaten by an adult dog it will also automatically be Best Puppy in Breed, Best Puppy in Group and Best

(b) Withdrawal from other Competition
Dogs which become eligible for Best of Group and Best in Show may be withdrawn from all other competition
other than breed classes and Best of Breed prior to the competition for Best of Group or Best in Show as
appropriate in order to remain unbeaten. A dog beaten in competition for Best of Group or Best in Show may
subsequently be exhibited in all competition for which it was previously eligible. The dogs declared Best in

following guidance to help guide you through the do’s and don’ts travelling to and whilst at Kennel Club licensed events.
When travelling to a show please take a moment to consider whether the route to the show is on a busy
holiday route, and leave earlier to avoid increased time in traffic jams.

If your vehicle is not air-conditioned seriously consider whether travelling to the show is a good idea at all.
The vehicle should be as fully ventilated as possible, and plenty of stops should be taken, with lots of water
available to drink.
Ensure your dog is not sitting in full sunlight. There should be plenty of free flowing air around the dog.
When at the show, never leave your dog in the vehicle.
Keep the dog in the shade — take your own shade, for example a large umbrella and always have plenty of
water available to drink so your dog stays well hydrated.
Avoid your dog taking part in unnecessary exertion, or from standing in exposed sunlight for extended lengths
of time.
Remember, if you feel hot your dog is very likely to feel much hotter and dehydrated, and this could lead to dire
results. Please look after your dog’s welfare. WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK, FORCIBLE
ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED.
Anyone whose dog is entered at a Kennel Club licensed event should take all reasonable steps to ensure the
needs of their dog(s) are met, and should not put a dog’s health and welfare at risk by any action, default, omission
or otherwise. Breach of Kennel Club Regulations in this respect may be referred to the General Committee for
disciplinary action under Kennel Club Limited Rules and Regulations. Exhibitors/Competitors are reminded that
show societies have the right under Kennel Club Regulation to refuse any entry.
Not For Competition: Not For Competition entries will be accepted. Details of each dog so entered must be
recorded on the entry form and must be Kennel Club registered.
Judges: Should any of the Judges be prevented from fulfilling their engagements, the Committee reserve to
themselves the right of appointing other Judges to fulfill their duties. Exhibitors are at liberty to withdraw from
competition but no entry fees can be refunded.
Grooming: All exhibitors must be familiar with Kennel Club Regulation F Annex B – Regulations for the
Preparation of Dogs for Exhibition. Grooming areas will be provided for the convenience of exhibitors desiring to
clean and prepare their dogs for exhibition and no exhibitor will be permitted to clean and prepare their dogs for
exhibition anywhere in the Show except in these places.
Vet: A Veterinary Surgeon will be in attendance – any fees incurred must be paid by the exhibitor at the time of
consultation.
Medical: An honorary Medical Officer will be in attendance each day as well as the Red Cross / St. John
Ambulance cover.
Catalogues: Full catalogues can be booked with entries at £6 each or purchased at the Show at £7 each.
Entries: All entries must be made on or before Friday 17th April 2015 (Postmark). Entry fees will not be refunded
once an entry has been made. There will be a charge of £20 levied against cheques which are not honoured. The
Committee reserve to itself the right to refuse entries.
Caravans: All caravans must be fitted with or carry a suitable fire extinguisher. Caravan awnings will be allowed
but windbreaks, gazebos etc will only be allowed at the discretion of the caravan warden. Dogs must be kept on a
lead at all times whilst within the caravan site or on the showground. All fouling must be picked up and disposed of.
Dogs must not be exercised on the main showground. Prepaid reservation fees will not be refunded.
Unentered Animals: No animal other than a dog duly entered at the Show will be allowed in the precincts of the
Show during its continuance.
Benching: (1) Dogs should be present on their benches at all times except (a) when being judged, (b) when being
prepared for exhibition and/or being exercised.
(2) In certain circumstances dogs must be present on their benches at all times if required by the show management.
(3) Dogs may be removed from their benches by order of the Veterinary Practitioner or Show Management. No
decorations, cards or other notices may be displayed on the bench except the Official Prize Cards and exhibitor’s
names and addresses as per KC Regulations. The benching is provided by the Society in accordance with KC
Limited Rules and Show Regulations and whilst the Society has taken all reasonable steps to ensure that the
benches provide reasonable security to dogs, owners of dogs using the benching will be solely responsible for any
injury or damage suffered by their dog(s) as a result of a defect in the benching or manner of construction thereof.
The Society excludes all liability under the Occupiers Liability Act 1957 with respect to any such damage or injury.
Under no circumstances may partitions between dogs be moved, such action weakens the general structure of the
benching and is contrary to KC Show Regulations F(1) 5c.
Exercise: Exercise in the rings is strictly prohibited.
Gangways: Gangways must be kept clear. (KC Rule F(1) 5e applies). Any obstructions will be removed by
authorised officials. Non-compliance may result in disqualification. Grooming and storage areas will be provided.
Responsibility: Exhibitors are reminded that the safety of their dogs is their sole responsibility. Removal orders
will not be checked except in the case of an emergency. The Committee will be most anxious for the care and
safety of exhibitors and exhibits, however, it must be distinctly understood by exhibitors and spectators at the show
that the Committee will not be responsible for the entire or partial loss or detention of, or damage to any dogs or
any other property, whether arising from accident or any other cause whatsoever, or from any act of omission of
themselves, their officers, servants, agents or others. Exhibitors and spectators will be held responsible for any
damage to property or equipment within the environs of the Showground caused by their children in their care. It is on
this understanding that entries are accepted.

Every exhibitor making an entry or entries at or for this show shall be deemed to have agreed to abide by the
Kennel Club and Society rules and regulations printed herein, and it is on this understanding only that entries are
accepted. Should any question arise which is not provided for in these Regulations or by the Kennel Club rules, the
decision of the committee shall be final, subject to appeal to the Kennel Club.
32 Photography and Video Rights: The Organisers would like to bring the regulation on photography and filming to
the attention of exhibitors, trade stands, press and visitors.
It is a condition of all those attending the event that no filming or other form of recording may be taken or made at
the venue without express written permission of the organisers. The taking of photographs in the show venue for
sale or reward is strictly prohibited except with the written permission of the Organisers. Press accredited
photographers are provided with permission to take photographs ONLY for use in newspapers, magazines and
internet sites – this is for news purposes only. There is no objection to the general public taking photographs of
general views of the show, provided that these are for private use. Specific dogs may be photographed only with
the approval of the exhibitor. No photography or filming is permitted in breed judging rings whilst judging is actually
taking place. However, judges may allow it to happen at the end of classes or after the Challenge Certificate is
awarded. Filming and flash photography is allowed from outside the rings at all times unless the operation of the
camera is actually affecting exhibits. However, if a powerful flash unit is used or it is clear that exhibits are being
affected, a ring steward or the judge is empowered to stop the person concerned.

Secretary at his/her office before the close of the Show and the individual must produce evidence of identity at the
time of lodging the complaint.
DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES
In the following Definitions, a Challenge Certificate includes any show award that counts towards the title of
Champion under the rules of any governing body recognised by the Kennel Club.
Wins at Championship Shows in breed classes where Challenge Certificates are not on offer shall be counted
as wins at Open Shows.
In the case of a dog owned in partnership and entered in Members’ Classes or competing for Members’
Specials, each partner must at the time of entry be a member of the Society.
In estimating the number of awards won, all wins up to and including the seventh day before the date of closing
of entries shall be counted when entering for any class i.e. Friday 10th April 2015.
Wins in Variety Classes do not count for entry in Breed Classes, but when entering for Variety Classes, wins in
both Breed and Variety Classes must be counted. A First Prize does not include a Special Prize of whatever value.
A dog is not eligible for entry in Variety Classes unless also entered and subsequently exhibited in a Breed
Class where such a class is provided for which it is eligible, as provided in Kennel Club Definitions of Classes.
