COURSE DESCRIPTION
The OHSU Primary Care Review provides up-to-date clinical information and critical review of topics
essential to primary care practice. Twenty plenary presentations and over 60 hours of smaller breakout
sessions provide the opportunity to design a personalized learning experience.
Plenary presentations will address:

Cognition impairment in the geriatric patient
Diabetes care in high risk individuals, followed by translating research into action

Smaller breakout sessions promote interaction and discussion with faculty and allow ample time for

TARGET AUDIENCE & LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The 2015 Primary Care Review is designed for family physicians, internists, hospitalists and other
physicians working in a primary care setting, as well as allied health care providers in primary care
practices.
At the conclusion of the course, participants will:
• Learn how to use the information gathered to generate a differential diagnosis for the patient presenting with cognitive impairment
• Understand common challenges in management of comorbidities complicated by kidney
disease including gout and osteoporosis
• Have a better understanding of safety issues with current medications for diabetes
• Understand how the mother’s health conditions during pregnancy can translate into other
health issues later in life
• Feel more comfortable having difficult conversations with patients, families and other care
givers
• Be able to more appropriately prescribe medications for patients experiencing back pain
• Understand the importance of spirometry usage in the primary care office
GENERAL INFORMATION
Location/Accommodations: The course will be held at the Sentinel Hotel, 614 SW 11th Ave, Portland, OR;
admission to the meeting rooms is limited to registered attendees. For hotel reservations, call the Sentinel
directly at 503-224-3400 and be sure to mention your attendance at the OHSU Primary Care Review. Please
make your reservations early; the room block will be released on January 9, 2015 and is subject to sell-out prior
to that date.
Tuition/Registration: Tuition is $750. This includes course materials and lunch Monday through Thursday. A
confirmation letter will be e-mailed to you upon receipt of your registration payment; if you have not received
confirmation within seven days of submitting your registration, please call 503-494-4898.
Cancellations: A $45.00 service charge will be assessed on all refund requests received on or before February 3,
2015. We are unable to issue refunds after that date.
Breakout Sessions: Enrollment in some breakout sessions is limited and will be filled on a first-come,
first-serve basis.
