From 1 January 2015 the building will be open from 8.15
every weekday
(closed on Saturdays, Sundays & public holidays)
If you wish to speak to a doctor on the telephone you will be
asked for your telephone number and the doctor will call you
back, unless you would like to call at another time. The duty
doctor is usually available from 11:30 until 12 noon to take or
make calls.
Open Surgeries
Each morning 8.30-10am “walk in” surgery with no
appointment needed.
Book on the day Surgeries
Telephone or call in person to make an appointment to be seen
that afternoon.
Appointment Surgeries
You may make an appointment to be seen up to 4 weeks ahead
in person, by telephoning during surgery hours or booking online (same process as ordering prescriptions on line, detailed
below). Patients are not registered with a specific doctor. You
can see whichever doctor you choose. If you are unable to keep
an appointment, please let us know. If you would like details of
the current surgery timetable please ask at reception for a leaflet.
Home Visits
If you are too ill to come to the surgery, a home visit can be
arranged by telephoning the surgery, preferably before 10.00am.
Please be prepared to give details to our receptionist as this will
help us to see the most urgent cases first.

Results
Access
There is car parking space at our purpose built surgery and easy
access for wheelchairs.
Repeat Prescriptions
You will receive a list of your repeat prescriptions. When reordering medication, tick the items you require and either post
or deliver the slip to the surgery. We are also happy to receive
requests for repeat medication by fax, but please avoid
telephoning orders if at all possible.
You can now order your repeat prescriptions on line. Please
speak to a receptionist or dispenser and they will organise your
password

Please allow 2 working days for collection
We can dispense medicines for most villages, except Kimbolton,
Stonely and a few outlying villages. If you live in one of these
you will be given a prescription to take to a chemist. We deliver
medicines to some villages. Please ask our dispensers for details.
If you have any tests, do remember to contact the surgery for
results, after 10.00am any weekday. Cervical smear results will
be sent to you by the Health Authority.
Training at the Medical Centre
GP Registrars: We are accredited as a training practice. A
Registrar is a qualified doctor undertaking further training to
become a GP. Their previous work has been mainly in hospital.
You may be asked if your consultation with the GP Registrar
can be videotaped. Your consent will always be required.
Medical Students: Twice a year we have 2 medical students in
their last year at Medical School who spend a month with us to
learn more about general practice. They also see patients but
only with your consent.

Practice Staff
Medical Centre Manager: Mr Pete Grantham
He is responsible for the smooth running of the practice and
ensures that you make the best use of our services. You should
contact him about any difficulties you have. He deals with our
in-house patients’ complaints procedure.
Reception Staff: Mrs Caroline Gardner, Mrs Anne Marriott,
Mrs Bea Slater, Mrs Gill Tuke, Mrs Jan Gough and Mrs Sally
Legge, Mrs Angela Arch.
Secretary: Mrs Nikki Yeoman arranges hospital referrals for
the doctors. Any related problems or queries should be directed
to her.
Dispensers: Mrs Maxine Lockhart, Mrs Caroline Seabrook &
Mrs Yvonne Stearns. They dispense the medicines prescribed
by the doctors.
Practice Nurses: Mrs Paula Incledon Webber RGN, Mrs Nicky
Mitchell RGN and Mrs Paula Robinson RGN.
They are available by appointment, and carry out various
procedures such as vaccinations and other injections, dressings,
cervical smears and ear syringing. They also do blood pressure
checks, family planning checks and give advice on health
promotion including help with giving up smoking and travel
advice.
Healthcare Assistants: Mrs Nikki Yeoman, Mrs Jan Gough,
and Mrs Bea Slater. They carry out blood tests, ECG’s and
blood pressure checks, by appointment
Health Visitor: Mrs Jayne Jenkinson. She works with families
with pre school children and is at the surgery Tuesday to Friday
8-5pm (except Thursday am).
Messages can be left on 01480 860097. She is available between
9.30am & 11.00am on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month for
general advice and weighing at Kimbolton Primary Academy
(close to the surgery).
District/Community Nurses: This team helps to care for
people in their homes.
They can be contacted on 08444810089, but you need a referral
from the practice first.
Midwife: Our Midwife is Dash Powdrill. Messages can be left
on 01480 357964. She holds an antenatal clinic at the surgery
on Wednesday mornings.

Childhood Immunisations: the nurses give routine
immunisations to babies and children, by appointment.
Contraception: a full range of methods are available including
implants, Mirena/coils, and cap fitting. The nurses are trained in
family planning and can perform routine checks. Emergency
contraception (both tablets and IUD fitting) are also available.

To see the advisor please make an appointment at reception.
Vaccinations: by appointment with the nurses. If you are
arranging foreign travel vaccinations, please download the travel
questionnaire from our website or ask for a form from reception
and complete this prior to your appointment.
