The Annual CSC Board meeting will be held following dinner at 8:00 pm on
Saturday, December 13th at The Hejaz Shrine Club. All members are welcome to
attend.

Hi Everyone,
It is hard to believe December is here and Christmas is just a few weeks away.
Our Christmas party will be held at our usual place at the Mauldin Shrine Club on
Saturday Dec. 13th. If you plan to attend please get your reservation in to Terry
Gordon as soon as possible. The details are included later in this newsletter. We
will also be electing our new Board for 2015 at the party. You should have
received an E-mail with those details as well. With that said I want to thank all of
the current board members who have helped keep me straight this year. They
have all done a wonderful job. Some will be continuing on in 2015, some will not,
but I can assure you, new or old, you have a very dedicated hard working group
of people doing their very best to make The Carolina Shag Club one of the best
clubs around! I also want to thank all the members. I truly appreciate the support
you have given me this year. I have enjoyed getting to know many of you a little
better and I think we have had an excellent year. There have been a few bumps
along the way as their always are. But overall we have been very fortunate to
have a lot of fun dance nights at the Phoenix and some really great parties
throughout the year. So I will end the way I started, with one final comment. This
is a social club and we are all here to have fun! So let’s continue to work
together to have the most fun we possibly can and everything else will take care
of itself!

We really do have a very generous shag club…
For Christmas this year, The Carolina Shag Club is joining with the Marine Corps
Toys for Tots to help area children have a Merry Christmas. Please bring your
new, unwrapped toys and drop them off at The Phoenix on Wednesday,
December 3 or Wednesday, December 10. For those of you who may not have
time or just don’t like to shop, your cash (or check payable to Toys for Tots) is
always welcome. This is another way for us to give back to our community. Our
club has raised a lot of money for our charities over the years. Every child
should have a toy under the Christmas tree. Now let’s fill up the tree…it’s for the
children!

The 2015 SOS cards are now available and will be sold for $30 on Wednesday
nights. Please see Dot Morgan or any board member if you are interested in
purchasing your card. These make great Christmas presents for your shagging
friends. Please make your check payable to the Carolina Shag Club. You may
also purchase them with a credit card for $31.

We need your help…the management at The Phoenix has asked that we refrain
from coming into The Palms dining area. People coming through the room can
be disruptive while other guests are dining. If you need to get to the lobby area,
you may go through the other dining area to the left of the bar or there is an
entrance from the parking lot. Your cooperation is appreciated.

On Saturday (Second Saturday), December 13th, we will have our annual
Christmas Party at the Hejaz Shrine Temple (same place as last year). Members
are free and space is limited to 200. Make your reservations by December 6.
Guests with members are $30.00 after December 6th. RSVP deadline December
9th. Thanks to Terry Gordon who is handling party and table reservations. You
can e-mail Terry at [email protected]. Tables of 8 (with all names) may be
reserved for $20.00. Half tables of 4 (with all names) may also be reserved. The
proceeds from the sale of table reservations pays for clean-up after the party.
Also at the Christmas Party, tables will be set up in the lobby so members can
renew their memberships for $25 and also buy their SOS passes for $30. We
need separate checks and they should be made payable to the Carolina Shag
Club. You may also wish to make a contribution to one of our charities. New this
year will be a space where you can purchase a name badge for an additional $6.
If you choose to pay by credit card, a 3% convenience fee will be added to each
transaction. A flyer with additional information is below.

The Phoenix is planning a great New Year’s Eve party. The Phoenix
has supported us and now is the time to support The Phoenix. Make
your plans now to ring in the New Year with your friends at The

The Carolina Shag Club will once again host the Greenville Area Hall
of Fame on May 2, 2015. You don’t want to miss this great event so
mark your calendars now.

Our Annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Hejaz Golf
Club (same as prior years) on May 16th, 2015 (the Saturday after
Mother’s Day). We need all of our members who golf to participate in
this event. We also need gifts for our golfers. The Golf Tournament is
the major fundraiser for our club. See Dan Ellington or Glenn Cole for
more information.

The nominations for our 2015 Officers are listed below. The proposed
officers and board members are recommended by the nomination
committee chaired by our incoming President for 2015, Dorothy (Dot)
Morgan, and approved by our Board of Directors. The election will be
held at our December 13th meeting at the Christmas Party.

the Out of Towners Band.
Small, but big change...we've moved from The Davenport to a larger venue 1 block up the street. It's called

(see right column). You can have dinner before, or even dance for a while, leave for dinner, and return (no
charge for re-entry). Some restaurants, like Wild Ace Pizza will deliver to the dance.
