your stamps as we have had with ours. As a way of expressing our appreciation we have organized a special Holiday Sale.
40% OFF ORDERS FROM THIS NEWSLETTER
We held a long debate over breakfast and Ursula suggested that we offer a really big discount to EVERYONE. Instead of having a
discount based on the size of your order, we have a simple requirement that all orders from this Newsletter be for at least $30.00 GROSS
($18.00 net after the discount). As long as your order meets that minimum, simply deduct 40% and add postage and you are done. We
will honor the Holiday Special Discount on this Newsletter on orders received up to December 31, 2014.
HOW TO PLACE YOUR ORDER
As always, we try to fill orders in the sequence they are submitted or arrive at our offices. E-mails, Faxes and Telephone messages have
date and time stamps and we try to sort the mail by postmark when it arrives. In general, folks who order earliest receive the greatest % of
their selection. Since there are limits to our stocks, later orders may face some sell outs. We encourage everyone to list alternates if
possible. Al Reed will be supervising the order processing while we are away. This month, there will be one extra wrinkle.
NO TELEPHONE SERVICES DECEMBER 18-28
This year, Ursula and I have decided to visit our grandchildren in St. Louis and Chicago. We are packing up Charley and Jake and taking
a Holiday vacation. While we are away, there will be staff here filling your orders, but there will be no one to answer the telephone. We will
be filling orders as they arrive, but we will NOT be shipping orders (or charging credit cards) until December 30. We plan to start to catch
up on telephone messages December 29. But based on past experience, it will take us more than a day to truly catch up on every order
and message. Of course, all our plans are based on our not having any snow or ice storms delay our return from Chicago.
The next regular Newsletter will be mailed on December 26 and sent out to e-mail lists on December 29.
USPS MAIL DELAYS
Every day we receive at least one telephone call from a reader expressing concern over the late delivery of their order. So far (knock on
wood) every package has shown up, but a few days later than usual. I tell myself that our past service has been so fast that when there is
a snow storm or other issue, our readers are naturally worried about delays in delivery. The fly in the ointment is that the real reason
things take longer to arrive is the deteriorating situation in the postal system. With even more sorting centers to close soon, delivery has
not only become later, but it is also less predicable. It is easier to cope with a standard extra day, but lately the mail does not follow any
pattern. Some weeks things arrive as usual. Other weeks, they take 3-7 extra days to get delivered. The next week, they may come in 3
days or maybe 7 days or even 10 days. Without a standard pattern, we will all have to recognize that we have to lower our expectations
that the USPS will deliver the same service every week. I think those days are over.
OUR CASH AND CARRY POLICY: All material is sold on a “Cash and Carry” basis. Payment arrangements must be made at the point
of sale. We will take orders for credit card payment or we can tell you how much to send us by check. We will hold material for up to 10 days to allow the
payments to arrive. If promised payments do not arrive, the material is returned to stock and the customer removed from our lists.
