Take a look at geekthelibrary.org Euclid Public Library Foundation Outreach Services Van Our residents just passed an operating levy that will keep the library stable for the next five years, but a large expense like a new van for Outreach deliveries would add stress to the library’s annual budget. Each month, our Euclid Public Library Outreach Services provides the following services to our Euclid residents who are temporarily or permanently homebound. The van that we have had for this service has been used hard for well over a decade. For this reason, the Foundation board has made the decision to help the library gather extra funds to provide a reliable vehicle to make these deliveries. Any resident, no matter what their age or situation, is entitled to have home delivery when they aren’t physically able to come to the library. Many of our elderly residents, and others who are only temporarily challenged, are delighted when they see the library van pull up to their home with books and movies to fill the hours of their day! Please consider a tax deductible donation, large or small, to this project. Your donation can be made payable to the Euclid Public Library Foundation and mailed to the Euclid Public Library, 631 East 222nd Street, Euclid, OH 44123, or you can drop it off at the library. Thanks on behalf of the Board of the Euclid Public Library Foundation! • Our library vehicle delivers library materials to over 100 residents and a dozen facilities, including individual homes, senior apartments, nursing homes and Euclid Hospital. Loading up the old van...over four years ago! • It serves homebound residents from 5th grade to over 100 years old - regardless of age, income, temporary or permanent need. • Traveling 15 regular delivery routes, covering the entire city of Euclid, our van drives over 143 miles of streets! • The van has faithfully delivered staff and materials to events and transported library programs throughout our community. The Outreach Services van is nearly 13 years old. It is showing signs of its age and is no longer the once reliable vehicle it used to be. The library is seeking to purchase a replacement van, and the Euclid Public Library Foundation is committed to helping raise necessary funds toward this cause. Euclid Public Library Outreach Services has served our community in so many ways – will you consider helping us to continue to provide these essential services? Any donation will help and get us closer to providing the residents of Euclid with reliable library services no matter what their needs! 80 YEARS STRONG! “On the twelfth day of August in 1935 a resolution was made to establish a public library free to all inhabitants of the Euclid City School District and Cuyahoga County, Ohio.” These words are from the minutes of the Board of Trustees. Eighty years later, our purpose is the same; maintaining a public library, free to all, with services that reflect the needs of everyone for years to come. Look for this symbol: for programs that reflect our 80 year celebration!
