include a high school diploma with experience operating
a variety of heavy machinery. A state of MN Class A CDL
driver’s license is required. The position, under the direction of the Maintenance Foreman, is responsible for operating a wide variety of medium to heavy equipment used in
maintaining county roads, and assisting in road repairs, or
construction activities. Heavy Equipment Operators are responsible for performing general preventative maintenance
to assigned pieces of equipment, assisting project crews in
various maintenance, signing or patching activities, and experience in snow removal procedures. Knowledge of safety
laws and rules of the road, basics of highway construction
procedures and principles. Knowledge of building, road
and bridge maintenance standards and practices. Experience operating tandem trucks, motor graders, rollers, backhoes, bulldozers, front end loaders, and tractors.
The Heavy Equipment Operator is a full-time, non-exempt,

fundamentals and operations of communication/dispatch
systems. The position, under the direction of the Chief Deputy and guidance of the Records Supervisor, is responsible
for monitoring receiving and transmitting radio traffic for all
Grant County law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel. Knowledge of computer operation
and the use of business productivity software or applications/software designed for law enforcement use, information storage, communication and/or retrieval preferred. The
Dispatcher/Records Clerk receives, monitors and handles
all 911, alarms, non-emergency, fire and ambulance calls and
transfers throughout the county; documents and records all
calls into department records; and assists department personnel in typing interviews, investigation and complaint reports of law enforcement personnel. Basic understanding of
department procedures as it applies to dispatch and recordkeeping activities desired. The position requires that capability of filling shift on short notice.
The Dispatcher/Records Clerk position is part-time requiring the successful applicant to the work day shifts every
