We are focusing on “at-risk youth,” partnering with four of our local mission partners – Freedom for Youth, Joshua Christian Academy, Children & Family Urban Movement, and Wildwood Hills Ranch – with opportunities to pray, serve and give. We can’t wait to see all of the amazing things God will do this Advent through Hope! ADVENT 2014 How to Get Involved: 4 1 Pray Please grab a prayer card during weekend worship at any of our five campuses as an opportunity to bless a child through prayer this Advent season. Each prayer card was filled out by a child from one of our local mission partners, or by children here at Hope. 2 Come & See Sign up to “come & see” our local mission partners in action, and how you might be able to help! Hope buses will transport people from Hope’s parking lot to our local mission partners for special tours of our mission partners serving children in our community. Each tour will last one hour and will take place in January. To sign up, visit lutheranchurchofhope.org/ advent. Twelve Words of Christmas Tuesdays, Dec. 2, 6:30-8:00 pm OR Dec. 9, 9:30-11:00 am From Lou Giglio’s “Passion Talk Series” comes the greatest story ever told. Completely unforeseen, yet long awaited, was the voice of God breaking through the darkness and four hundred years of silence with the cry of a baby. And not just any baby, the gift of God. God’s people, having waited generations for their Creator to reveal Himself, never would have imagined that rescue and redemption would come in the simple, vulnerable form of a child, a baby born under the radar and into the chaos-announced by twelve words that changed history and brought hope to humanity. That’s the message of Christmas. God with us, full of grace and truth. And no one on earth is too far from His love. No one beyond His reach. He’s at work in your life, even in the midst of the chaos, and promises to bring you through. Merry Christmas. The Savior is here. Come and listen. MOMentum Second Tuesday of the month (Dec. 9), 7:00-9:00 pm Join the celebration as Melissa Johnson-Matthews speakes on “Baby Changes Everything.” Childcare is available from 7:00-8:30 pm for those registered. Enjoy a “Jolly Holiday” with Mary, Jane, Michael, Bert and the chimney sweeps of London. Bus leaves Hope West Des Moines at 12:15 pm for 1:00 pm show, returning around 4:00 pm. Cost: $35.
