Competition Kata Workshop
INTRODUCTION
Hello, I’m Aimee. I’ve been part of the England National Squad since I was 14
years old and I’m one of England’s most successful Kata competitors with 5
medals from World and European WKF Championships from both individual
and team. I’ve created this special opportunity for you to work with me in this
Competition Kata Workshop to gain valuable knowledge from my experience
of competing at top level competition and to learn the secrets of success.
This Competition Kata Workshop will be unique, more than a cliché course and
more than a stale seminar. Developed to focus on the many aspects of
competition performance not just spotlighting the Kata itself.
It will feature many topics such as:
Mat Presence - covering presentation, confidence, tactics.
Attitude - covering aggression, preparation, motivation.
Rules - covering WKF rule etiquette from a competitor and referee
perspective.
But it’s more than just a theory workshop, there will be sections on:
Drills - covering speed & acceleration exercises, Kata specific plyometrics
and fast muscle twitch exercises.
Technical Elements - will involve breaking down your kata into individual
component executions.
Finale - The Finale will allow you an opportunity to take centre stage
putting the workshop elements into practice.
This workshop is designed to help you to:
explore what’s behind the kata performance.
understand what key elements deliver a winning performance.
develop those key elements to deliver your potential.
The Kata Competition Workshop places have been capped to deliver an
enhanced participant-focused experience giving you greater exposure and
participation in workshop theory and exercises.
