DECEMBER 21,2014
Perspectives From Fr. Kurt: Our Parish Family
Fourth Sunday of Advent
Dear Parishioners and Friends of St. Patrick:
As I share my thoughts with you this
weekend, I am thinking about Fr. Bill
Bruning’s message to us during the Advent
Tri-Parish Mission. No matter how broken
we feel or how much darkness enters our
lives, the real presence of Jesus Christ in
us and among us promises us “the miracle
of new life!” Being involved in parish life
can bring meaning, hope, and miracles of new beginnings
into our lives. I want to thank each of you for making St.
Patrick a vital, caring, faith-filled, and life-giving presence
in the Lemont community and beyond. One hundred
seventy-five years and still going strong! With Christmas
drawing ever near, I hope you feel personally invited,
warmly welcomed, wanted and needed at St. Patrick. A
parish family cannot exist unless its people gather to
worship. It is from our worship together that we discover
the desire to serve others in the various ministries that flow
out of our parish family’s faith and trust in God.
To all who worship with us each weekend – thank you for
witnessing to your faith and belief. To all who minister to
others in the name of St. Patrick – thank you for your
generosity in sharing your time, talent and treasure. To all
those who are trying to decide if St. Patrick is the “right fit”
for them on their spiritual journey – thank you for giving us
the opportunity of helping you find God’s awesome care
and love in this world.
In the name of our dedicated and hardworking Parish
Pastoral staff, and the members of our Parish Councils, I
wish you and all your loved ones peace, joy, love and new
life this Christmas Season. May you and I always
encourage each other to see the face of Jesus Christ in each
other.
One more encouragement – I would like to invite you and
your family to bring forward the gifts of bread and wine,
which when prayed over as a community of faith, becomes
the body and blood of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. If you
would like to participate in this meaningful liturgical action,
I ask that you speak to one of the ushers as you come into
the church for Mass. They will instruct you on how to
proceed. If you or your family are celebrating a special day
like a birthday or an anniversary of Marriage or Death, and
you would like to “bring up the gifts” on a particular
weekend, please call Sue at the Parish Office so we can
forward the message to our fine ushering crew.
With Christmas joy and peace,
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE ST. PATRICK

CENTURY CLUB ORNAMENTS HAVE ARRIVED!
If you have “joined” the Century Club, you can pick up your ornament from
one of the church window sills this weekend. THANK YOU!
If you have not contributed, and would still like to do so, we do have extra
ornaments. Please place your $100 donation in the collection basket in an
envelope marked with your name and the notation “CENTURY CLUB” clearly written
on the envelope, and an ornament will be waiting for you next week. This
year’s design is of our north window depicting St. Patrick and includes our
logo for the 175th anniversary of the parish on a frost green background. If
you would like more than one ornament, a donation of $175 will reserve two
ornaments for your family. Thank you for the contributions you make today,
