What a joy it is meant to be. For the Lord Jesus Christ, from the mystery of His birth, through the passion of His death, to the wonder of His Resurrection, comes to us as the real and true hope of our lives. We invite everyone to celebrate Christ birth with us, not only on these days leading up to the 25th, as we prepare gifts and decorations and feasts, but also in the celebration of Holy Mass of Christmas itself. Please see the schedule of masse beginning on the 24th and through the morning of the 25th. And for your children and grandchildren, please be sure to bring them to visit the manger scene, to say a prayer and ask a blessing of the baby Jesus on them and on their families. And our parish also invites you to a special parish celebration, a. . . POST--CHRISTMAS PARISH PARTY on Saturday evening December 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Marian Hall, our Community Center. Our parish organizations and ministries sponsor the event, free of charge. But you are invited to add to the festivities with a plate of your home made cookies or other small finger food treats. Join us in the festivities of the season. And also remember, tickets for the parish New Year’s Eve Party are still available at the parish office. Reservations are STRONGLY suggested. $50 per adult. On those Sundays when there is no special request of support to the missions or other need beyond the parish, the collection will go toward reducing the difference between our regular collections and the weekly expenses for operating the church. Blessed with a parish reserve fund, wise management demands that the fund be available for unforeseen emergencies and for further development of the parish. We hope everyone will contribute generously to the second collection according to their means. (Please see the new weekly collection report below). We also use the labels for Education from the Campbell Soup Company. So if you use any of these products please send your box tops or labels in an envelope in the collection basket. It couldn’t be easier and the children of our grammar school will benefit. December 20-21, 2014 “When I Called, You Answered” Meeting Our Parish Goals Thank you for supporting the 2014 Annual Appeal. In order for our parish to receive a rebate, we must exceed our goal in funds collected by December 31st. If you have an outstanding balance on your pledge, please make sure to send it in before the deadline. If you have not yet made your gift, please complete your gift envelope as soon as possible and either send it directly to the Archdiocese of Newark or turn it in to the parish. Not only does your contribution benefit the many programs and ministries throughout the Archdiocese, but it also has the potential of benefitting our parish with an opportunity for a rebate. Thank you for supporting the Annual Appeal. Supplementing Retirement with a Planned Gift: Are you nearing retirement or are already retired and are looking to make a year-end gift? If so, a Charitable Gift Annuity can be a way to supplement your retirement income and help your parish at the same time. Let the Archdiocese of Newark help you set up a Charitable Gift Annuity by contacting Theresa Lynch in the Planned Giving Office. She can be reached at (973) 497-4042 or by e-mail at [email protected]. ‘Each of us is a Masterpiece of God’s Creation.’ The Archdiocesan Respect Life Office and the Pro-Life Commission will host a Pro-Life Mass at noon on January 18, 2015 at the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart, 89 Ridge Street, Newark. January 22, 2015 marks the 42nd anniversary of the legalization of abortion in this country. By attending this special Mass, those who wish to stand up for life but cannot attend the March for Life in Washington DC or the rally in Trenton can still show their support and defend those who cannot defend themselves.
