Engineer I (2-Year Contract) [Ref: CLPP-PSBG-TSD-SE-EI]
Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will lead a team of
engineering staff and contractors, and be responsible for providing technical support, fault
investigation as well as project and site testing and installation activities in the areas of power
quality (PQ) issues for the electrical power system and electric vehicles (EV). Major duties will
include but not limited to followings:

Provide technical support to internal and external customers in dealing with PQ problems in
power systems and EV

Provide fault investigation, diagnosis, make recommendations and implement improvement
and modification on PQ problems of the Company’s power systems, as well as customers’
systems and EV networks

Conduct training, seminars and develop PQ & EV website; prepare pamphlets and brochures in
order to educate the internal and external customers on PQ & EV issues

Establish policies, standards and to conduct benchmarking on PQ and EV

Administer, maintain and operate PQ servers, PQ systems and EV networks in high availability

Develop monitoring system, evaluate new technology and equipment to improve the PQ & EV

Ensure adequate and justifiable budgets are prepared and under control for project
implementation, daily operation and maintenance activities

Carry out tendering, contracting and subsequent contract management in maintaining PQ & EV
networks and delivering PQ and EV services

Review safety plans, works and documentations prepared by sub-ordinates and/or contractors
to ensure its compliance with CLP Power Safety Management Systems

Lead and supervise subordinates in relevant technical and administrative procedures

Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition /
typhoon period, and carry out emergency restoration, repairs / shift duties when required
Requirements:

A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline; and MHKIE or
equivalent qualifications

A minimum of 5 years relevant experience in the installation, testing, fault investigation,
operation & maintenance and development of electrical equipment and systems

Proficiency in PC applications. Knowledge in computer programming, website & server is an
advantage

Be mindful and has good safety awareness and track record

Familiar with CLP Power Safety Rules, engineering standards, codes of practice and relevant
statutory regulations

Good interpersonal, negotiation, managerial and leadership skills

Customer-oriented, self-motivated, good team player and able to work under pressure and
tight schedule

Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese

Possession of a valid driving license of Class 1 and preferably Class 2
