1ra Cumbre Internacional Kaizen Lean – Chile 2014 The “1ra Cumbre Internacional Kaizen Lean – Chile 2014” took place on November 4-‐5 in Santiago, Chile. The theme of the Summit was “Operational Excellence for Profitable and Sustainable Growth”. 274 participants joined the Summit. Masaaki Imai, the founder of Kaizen Institute opened the Summit with a lecture about “The Challenge of World Class Sustainability”, followed by lectures by Euclides Coimbra (Partner – Kaizen Institute Portugal) talking about “Strategic Planning and Kaizen in Manufacturing and Supply Chain”, Jon Miller (CEO – Kaizen Institute Consulting Group) talking about “Creating Kaizen Culture for Excellence”, and Bruno Fabiano (Partner – Kaizen Institute Italy) talking about “Continuos Innovation as a Strategy for Sustainable Growth”. The second day of the Summit was concluded with additional lectures and exhibitions about “Kaizen Lean & TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) – for Asset Management Optimization” and “Lean Manufacturing Strategy in Latin America” presented by Osvaldo Guedes (Partner – Kaizen Institute Brazil), and “Lean Coaching for Continuos Improvement” presented by Francisco Orbeta (Partner – Kaizen Institute Chile). Closed round table interviews with selected senior executives, and KAIZEN books signed by the au-‐
thors were also realized during this 1st successful and very well perceived International Kaizen Lean Summit. We look forward to the next “Cumbre Internacional Kaizen Lean” in Chile!
