Non–resident registration begins Tuesday, December 9. Online Registration: Once your account has been set up, login with your username and password. Browse Activities and add programs to your Shopping Cart. Agree to the e–waiver and proceed to Checkout. Print a receipt for your records. Mailed and Faxed Registration: Complete the entire Enrollment Form found on page 2. Any missing information will delay your registration. Please include payment. If your first and second choices are unavailable, you will be placed on a waitlist. Residents: Residents are individuals and families that live within the corporate boundaries of the City of McHenry. School district boundaries do not apply. Residents pay City Resident (CR) rates. Non–Residents: Non-residents are individuals and families that live outside the corporate boundaries of the City of McHenry. This includes those living in Lakemoor, Johnsburg, McCullom Lake, Wonder Lake and unincorporated areas of McHenry. Non-residents pay Non-City Resident (NCR) rates. If you are unsure of your status, call McHenry Parks and Recreation for assistance. Non–Resident Rates: Non-Resident rates for programs may be up to 25% more than the resident rates. Age: Age is determined as of the first day of the program and Grade is determined as of Fall 2014, unless otherwise stated. Payment: Program enrollment only occurs with payment. Payment can be made by personal check, cash or credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express). Checks need to be made payable to the City of McHenry. There is a $25 charge for returned checks. Payment cannot be taken over the phone unless a household credit covers the entire fee. R eceipts : Receipts are mailed indicating enrollment or waitlist, along with program information for mailed or faxed registrations. You must print your own receipt for online registrations. Waivers: The program waiver on the enrollment form must be signed and dated by the participant or parent/legal 1 guardian. The City of McHenry will not assume responsibility for accidents or injuries which occur while participating in any program. Waitlists: If you are contacted regarding an opening after being placed on a waitlist, you must make payment within three working days of notice. If payment is not received, others on the waiting list will be contacted. New sessions may be added if space, time, and instructor are available. Program Refunds: A refund/credit will be given for a program which is cancelled by the department. A refund/credit will also be given if you decide to withdraw from a program before it starts. A refund/credit will not be given if you decide to withdraw on the day the program begins or after the program has started. Refunds cannot be processed online. Withdrawing from a program will result in a $5 administrative or credit card fee unless you decide to keep the credit on your household account. Refunds are processed through the finance department and may take 4–6 weeks to be processed. Field Trip Refunds: If you decide to withdraw from a field trip, a refund/credit will only be given if your seat/ticket can be sold to someone else. Withdrawing from a trip will result in a $5 administrative or credit card fee unless you decide to keep the credit on your household account. Household Credits: Credits may remain on your household account indefinitely and can be used for future program enrollments, pool passes, or facility rentals. Changes/Cancellations: We reserve the right to consolidate, postpone or cancel programs due to low enrollment. Please register at least four working days before a program begins; otherwise a program may be cancelled three working days before the start date due to low enrollment. Weather: Staff will notify participants if a program is cancelled due to inclement weather. You may call the office for cancellation information, but no sooner than one hour before the start of the program. After 5:00 pm, please call 815-3632160 for recorded cancellation information. Not all programs are cancelled when schools are cancelled. We would like to thank Kohls and IDOT for their cooperation in granting the use of the site for the dog park. The park features shade, a large running area for dogs, onsite parking and running water. The park is open from 7 am to dusk. The dog park provides year-round opportunities for dogs and their owners to socialize as well as exercise – both important to an animal’s temperament and health. Thank you to Gary Lang Subaru for Supporting McBark Dog Park An annual pass is sold for local dog owners to access the facility. Gate access is a controlled system allowing only dog pass holders. Fees are for one calendar year from September 1 through August 31. Passes are sold in person only at McHenry Municipal Center. McHenry Zone Skate and Bike Park Skate Park users must respect the facility while it is open (supervised or unsupervised) and follow the rules which are posted at the Skate Park. Offenders who disobey the rules will be asked to either comply or leave the premises. When the gates are locked the facility is closed! Rules posted at the facility – helmets are required. . Daily Skate & Bike Hours Daily............................. 10:00 am – 8:00 pm or dusk (whichever is sooner) weather permitting 3 Shelter Rentals Shelters reservations can be made for Knox, Petersen and Veterans Memorial Parks. Reservations and payment can only be made in person. City Residents can begin reservations on Tue, January 6. Non-Residents can begin reservations on Tue, February 3. Shelter hours are from 9:00 am to dusk daily. Two separate payments are required for a reservation: one for the reservation fee and one for the deposit fee (dated for the day of the rental). For information on available dates and fees, call the Parks and Recreation office at 815-363-2160. In order to guarantee a shelter for family, company or special use, reservation and deposit fees must be paid for weekday and weekend picnic shelter reservations. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the parks unless a beer and wine permit is obtained. Without the permit you are subject to a $25-$100 fine. Alcohol and special use permits must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the reserved date. Falsifying the number of people for the reservation will result in the loss of deposit. Tent setup and take down must occur the same day of the rental unless special approval is obtained. Family groups of 150 people or more must reserve two shelters at Petersen Park. Companies must use Shelter C at Petersen Park. Weddings: Weddings may be held at Veterans Memorial Park. Only 1 wedding per day will be scheduled. Note any special set-up at time of reservation. Rental equipment and decorations must be removed by the end of the day. The 3 front rails on the gazebo will be removed and a $25 maintenance fee will automatically be applied.
