The park is located on Front Royal Drive in the Whispering Oaks subdivision. Much of the wooden playground features in the park are outdated and in need of replacement. The city consulted with the company that originally oversaw construction of the project to ensure the integrity of the park remains unchanged. The park will remain closed until renovations are completed in mid to late November. Fort McHenry is a community-built project constructed that was constructed 20 years ago. IL Route 120/31 Construction. Roadwork along Route 120 and Route 31 is steadily progressing. Construction has begun on the remaining concrete pavement areas along Route 120. Asphalt resurfacing along Route 31 continues. The McHenry County Department of Transportation Division of Water Resources and McHenry County Department of Health cosponsored a Winter Snow & Ice Workshop in Crystal Lake. Public Works Director Schmitt and Street Superintendent Stull attended a Snow & Ice Conference sponsored by the American Public Works Association. Local, multi-modal, and parking structure snow removal; and sustainable and environmentally conscious processes were discussed. Water Division Superintendent Palmer and Assistant Superintendent Wirch attended a demonstration on water main lining utilizing cast in-place pipe commonly known as CIPP. The demonstration was held in Buffalo Grove, IL and provided a unique opportunity to view project staging, residential impact, and real-time product installation. CIPP technology allows for rehabilitation of deteriorated water mains while they remain in place. Minimal excavations results in less impact to residential communities and reduced costs to restore roads, parkways, and driveways. Training: Plumbing Inspector Smale attended a meeting of the Plumbing & Mechanical Contractors Authority of Northern Illinois to review updates to the Illinois Plumbing License Law and Plumbing Code.
