All students must vacate their on-campus residence within 24 hours after their last final exam or by 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
December 16, 2014 at the latest. If you have a final after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, then you must submit an
online stay-over request. Late departures will not be permitted. Please adjust your travel plans accordingly.
Finals Week: December 11-16
Commencement: December 17, 2014
Spring Housing Opens: January 19, 2014
Spring Classes Begin: January 21, 2014
Only students directly involved with Commencement will be given approval to stay until 5:00 p.m. on the day of
Commencement, December 17, 2014, will be considered for approval. Anyone needing permission to stay beyond 2:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, December 16 must submit an online stay-over request by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2014. Late requests may
not be accepted. The break request form can be accessed on the Residence Life & Housing webpage: http://www.ycp.edu/officesand-services/residence-life-and-housing/. Permission is not guaranteed and will be confirmed by YCP email. Students who are
found on-campus and have not been approved to stay will be required to leave immediately and may face disciplinary sanctions
and fines.

Before you leave for break, please see that the following items are accomplished:

Secure possessions in the most effective and efficient manner possible.
Make certain the apartment/room is neat and clean - this includes dirty dishes.
(2)
Turn off and unplug computers and all electrical devices.
Make certain garbage and trash is properly disposed of in dumpsters.
Close and lock windows and pull shades down.
Last student to leave should complete, sign, and tape the check-out sheet to the door. (Residence Life staff will remove it
if you have an exterior entrance.)
Apartments should leave the outside light turned on.
Students withdrawing from the College, graduating, going abroad, interning, or approved for a semester room change
must remove all personal items and return their assigned keys to the Residence Life Office before leaving campus. In
addition, the student is to notify the Residence Life Office by completing the online form.
All rooms/apartments may be inspected by Residence Life staff after closing. If your room/apartment is found in violation, you
may be subject to discipline sanctions and fines.
As a reminder, 24-Hour Quiet Hours begin at 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 and will be strictly enforced by all York
College of Pennsylvania staff.

Students who are returning for the Spring 2015 semester are allowed to leave personal items if they wish. However,
anything left is at the student’s own risk. The College cannot take responsibility for lost or stolen items.

Refrigerators provided by the College in all apartments and Little Run Lodge may be left directly plugged into an outlet (not
into a power strip); however the College cannot take responsibility for its contents. Please take all medication home for the
break. In non-apartment housing, the refrigerators may NOT be left plugged in and should be defrosted prior to leaving. Any
damage as a result will be the responsibility to the students occupying the room.
