SACRAMENTO – California Contractors State License Board (CSLB)
Board Chairman David Dias today announced the selection of CSLB Chief
Deputy Registrar Cindi A. Christenson to serve as the board’s new Registrar
of Contractors, effective January 1, 2015, following a nationwide executive
search.
“We are pleased and confident with our decision to promote Cindi
Christenson who, as a 33-year career state executive, has successfully
demonstrated her fiscal, policy, regulation, legislative, and operational
management abilities,” added Dias. “She also will have the distinction of
serving as CSLB’s first female Registrar of Contractors, among the known 15
executives who have served in this position since 1929.”
Ms. Christenson has served as second in command for CSLB’s more than
400 employees and eight consumer protection offices, with direct oversight
of the board’s $60 million budget, operating policies and procedures, and
executive team since 2009.
“My knowledge and appreciation for our state’s construction industry has
grown under Steve Sands’ leadership,” said Christenson. “We will continue
to meet our consumer protection mission, and serve as a strong industry
partner in our efforts to curb the underground economy and establish more
streamlined processes for state licensure.”
Before joining CSLB, Ms. Christenson was the executive officer for the
California Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors from 1996 to
2009 and, from 1988 to 1996, was that organization’s senior engineering
registrar. She also worked with the state Department of Water Resources as
an associate mechanical engineer from 1981 to 1988.
Ms. Christenson received her juris doctorate from the Lincoln Law School of
Sacramento in 2003, and is a licensed mechanical engineer after earning her
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from California
Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She and her husband,
Michael, are residents of El Dorado Hills, CA.
The Contractors State License Board operates under the umbrella of the
California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Here is the information for the 24 condo unit with one commercial space at 528 Thomas Berkeley in Oakland, it is design build. Because of that the
documentation is limited which can be a good thing as it will give an opportunity for a solid team of subcontractors to provide this General Contractor with input
for the design phase. Proforma has been awarded the design portion of this project already with a clause to continue to construction given that this general
works well with the owners. Because Proforma is still designing, there is no solid date for when we need our bids by, however as of now we are setting a
tentative date to receive all bids by Dec. 19th at 2 PM.

How to Avoid Affordable Care Act
AUDITS & PENALTIES! My name is Don Beaton, past President of the Builders Exchange of Alameda County and 40 years a California Contractor. During the time I was on the Board of Directors and Past President of the Builders Exchange, I remember OSHA becoming a federally mandated law. The reason I mention this is because there is now another federally mandated law, called the Affordable Care Act (ACA). A business owner’s obligation to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is of the utmost importance at this time. Non-‐compliance to this federally mandated Law can cost you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. In an effort to help your business, I am working with a company who has designed a Reference Guide, Obamacare Compliance Kit, to get you through this maze. In all my years in business, this is by far “the best” tool and “a must have” for business owners to stay in compliance and navigate the new ACA law. The ERguide is part of an annual subscription and includes the following: Ø ERguide –Binder format (270 pages) Ø Webinar Series – Tutorials on how to use the ERguide Ø Email Call Center – Info@Healthcare-‐Compliance-‐Inc.com Ø Legislative Update – Includes recent changes, additions and deletions to the ACA Ø CD – Includes rules, regulations & notices from DOL, HHS & IRS Ø Periodic Newsletters & Bulletin Emails Ø Workshop Series – Live presentations on a variety of ACA topics You would pay, a number of experts, hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars to compile this much pertinent information. The annual subscription for the Basic ERguide -‐ $360.00. * Please note, if your company is over 50 employees, you would choose the Advanced ERguide -‐ $1,250. Healthcare Compliance Inc. (HCI) was created by Janet Mlynar, MBA, CFP®, in 2010, and incorporated in 2013, to address the problems faced by business owners and employers who now must comply with ever-‐changing mandates created by the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Janet is an innovator and leader in both Insurance and Financial Planning. She is considered a foremost expert on the Affordable Care Act and it is my pleasure to work with the HCI team to bring you the most up-‐to-‐
date information on the ACA – especially as it relates to business owners. To receive your copy of the ERguide Subscription today, Call Don Beaton: (541)-‐997-‐8849 E-‐mail: [email protected] The Affordable Care Act – Where Healthcare Meets Compliance www.Healthcare-‐Compliance-‐Inc.com Executive Office Space for Lease
