Photos by Lee Salem back and as good, if not better, than ever at the 57th Boomtown Gala at Santa Monica Civic Auditorium. Wow... What a night... as SHARE honored Jamie Lee Curtis with its Shinning Spirit award. After a huge silent auction, the 500-plus guests, dressed in Western attire, proceeded to their tables to watch the show. The curtain opened and there were the SHARE gals dancing away in their short purple dresses, showing us that no matter what your age, you can still be a knockout. During the Western-inspired dinner of chili, BBQ ribs and chicken, corn bread biscuits and cobbler catered by Along Came Mary, I kept telling myself to think about how great the girls looked and not eat too much (it didn’t work well as the food was delicious). SHARE President Maxine Smith introduced a much surprised Marilyn Katleman, who received the “Member Of The Year” award for her extraordinary support and dedication to the organization. Kelly Curtis introduced her sister Jamie Lee with a loving speech... Their mother, Janet Leigh, was a longtime active member and one time president of S H A R E . . . Jamie relived some wonderful memories she had of her mom watching the rehearsals. Jamie Lee emotionally mentioned she was wearing the vest her mother always wore at SHARE... Besides the opening number, the Share girls performed One Night Only and I Love Your and I Do danced while singer Geno Henderson decked out in a white suit sang Cadillac Car (think Eddie Murphy in the movie Dream TRIBUTE TO THE HUMAN SPIRIT–The Wellness Community –WLA’s 12th annual Human Spirit awards gala at The Beverly Hills Hotel honored (from left): Evan “Indy” and Julie Moore, Claudia Sangster, Susan and Mark Burger.
