12 BEVERLY HILLS COURIER
JULY 2, 2010
Congratulations to Lois
Rosen, who received the “Duke”
award at The John Wayne Cancer Institute Auxiliary’s 25th
Odyssey Ball.
The gala, held at The Beverly Hilton, was co-chaired by
Jackie Banchik, Marissa Coughlan and Susan Rosen Lynch, and
featured a cocktail reception,
silent auction and, after dinner,
dancing to our hearts content...
Patrick Wayne presented the
award to Lois in appreciation for
her long time support of JWCI.
After a heartfelt speech, she ended with a toast and said, “Let’s
Party”... and party we did.
KTLA’s Sam Rubin did a
terrific job as the evening's host
with proceeds to benefit Armando Giuliano M.D., chief of Science and Medicine, and Federick Singer, M.D., director of the
Endocrine Bone Disease Program at JWCI located at St. John
Health Center.

Wow... What a night...
as SHARE honored Jamie Lee
Curtis with its Shinning Spirit
award.
After a huge silent auction, the 500-plus guests,
dressed in Western attire, proceeded to their tables to
watch the show.
The curtain opened and
there were the SHARE gals
dancing away in their short purple dresses, showing us that no
matter what your age, you can
still be a knockout. During the
Western-inspired dinner of chili,
BBQ ribs and chicken, corn
bread biscuits and cobbler
catered by Along Came Mary, I
kept telling myself to think about
how great the girls looked and
not eat too much (it didn’t work
well as the food was delicious).
SHARE President Maxine
Smith introduced a much surprised Marilyn Katleman, who
received
the
“Member

for her extraordinary support
and dedication
to the organization.

introduced her
