IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Starting from March 1 , 2012, the Swiss Embassy will assign the task of making an appointment and
accepting the applications to TLScontact * (TELESMART International) company. As from this date, all
visa applications will have to be submitted at the following location:
TLScontact (12/1, 12th Floor, Sathorn City Tower, 175 South Sathorn Road, Khwaeng Thungmahamek, Khet
Sathorn, Bangkok 10120).
Appointments must generally be made with the company TLScontact via the internet address:
www.tlscontact.com/th2ch/login.php.
The telephone information service of TLScontact is also operating at the number: 02 696 38 99, from Monday
to Friday, 08:00 h. until 16:30 h. (available for calls from within Thailand only). An auto-information-service in
various languages will be available 24/24 hours.
Applicants who do not wish to submit their applications to TLScontact will be allowed to do so at the Embassy.
However, an appointment through TLScontact must still be made in advance.
Important: Without any appointment made in advance, the application will neither be accepted by TLScontact,
nor by the Swiss Embassy.
The maximum stay in the Schengen area will not be allowed to exceed 90 days over any 180-day period.
Visas for people resident in MYANMAR, CAMBODIA OR LAO PDR
For the time being and until further notice the Regional Consular Center (RCC) in Bangkok will issue visas and
capture the biometric data of persons applying for a Schengen ’’C’’ visa.
All applicants have to come in person with their documents to the Embassy of Switzerland in Bangkok (without
an appointment). The visa section is open from 09.00 until 13.00 to submit the documents. If the file is in order
a visa can be issued the same day. For long term visas ’’D’’ the visa file can be submitted at our Embassy in
Myanmar, at the Honorary Consulate in Cambodia or at the Honorary Consulate at Lao PDR. Applicants
residing in Myanmar, Cambodia and Lao PDR are requested to check our Website for an update regularly.
The Embassy reserves its right to perform personal interviews at the Embassy in Bangkok.
The visa application can be lodged earliest 3 months before the planned departurel.

Documentary requirements
No document is sent directly to the Embassy.
All applicants - legal residents of Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar or Laos - must submit in person by
TLScontact (with the exception of children up to 18 years of age, for whom their legal representatives may
apply):
From guarantor

A signed invitation letter as a confirmation that the guarantor in Switzerland awaits the visit. If the
guarantor is not the host, please provide the reason. There is no form for the invitation letter and it must
be submitted together with the visa application. A standard invitation letter is available on the website of
the Embassy www.eda.admin.ch/bangkok.

Thai assets proof of the guarantor (bankbook, bank statement)

Insurance of the applicant: travel and health insurance valid for the whole Schengen Territory. The
insurance company must have a seat or branch in a Schengen member state. The insurance must cover
the costs of repatriation in a sickness case, medical assistance and/or emergency hospitalisation. The

From the invited person (applicant with legal residence in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos):

A completely filled and dated application, signed by the applicant, for Schengen visa with information of
the guarantor (family name, first name and exact address in Switzerland of the guarantor and the host, in
case they are not identical.)

Two recent colour pictures (3,5-4 cm. width, good quality, bright background, head size 70-80% of the
picture)

Passport, valid for at least three months after the planned departure.

Copy of the passport: personal data page, extension, name change.


Remark: Please do not buy the ticket before the visa is issued. The Embassy would not take any
responsibility for any costs concerning the changing or invalidity of the ticket.

Working situation: work certificate (for student: academic certificate such as an enrolment confirmation of
the school or university.)

The applicant under the age of 18 must present his/her birth certificate and the visa application must be
singed by both parents. In addition, an official parental consent for the planned travel to abroad must be
submitted, in the case that the parents do not travel together with the minor children. The document must
be issued by Amphoe.

If the applicant and the host are relatives, the relationship must be proved through official documents.
(marriage certificate, house registration book/Tabienban, etc.)
The Embassy will accept only the file with complete documents.
Expenses
The visa application-handling fee levied by the Embassy is EUR 60.- for adult, EUR 35.- for 6-12 years
children and no charge for children under 6 years. TLScontact will charge an extra THB 990.—for each
application received. It must be paid in cash in local currency. Please prepare the fee in the exact amount.
The fee is not refunded in case of rejection or revocation of the application.
Procedure
The passport with the visa decision will be ready to be collected in six to ten working days, according to the
rule, after the receipt of the visa application (no personal appearance required; can be done by a third
person/agent).
Due to the responsibility reason, the Embassy will not send any document by post.
