About Our Organization
Since 1965 The Woodlands
has provided quality professional services to those in
need, regardless of their ability
to pay. The Woodlands, a
private, non-profit organization, provides comprehensive
prevention, education, and treatment services to residents
of Licking and surrounding counties.
The Woodlands is a dynamic organization that serves to
address the diverse needs of individuals and families in
our community. The Woodlands is organized into three
distinct direct service departments: Domestic Violence
Services, Outpatient Services and Outreach Services.

1st Annual Bag Lady Brunch
August 2009 Cherry Valley Lodge hosted
the 1st annual Bag Lady Brunch—
designer bag auction to benefit the Center
for New Beginnings Domestic Violence
Shelter and Services. Bags were auctioned

This Valentine’s Day dinner and raffle
fundraiser was held at The Grill for the
first time. The Grand Prize winner of the
raffle received an all inclusive trip for two
to Cozumel, Mexico!

Art for Life
Art for Life was an art Auction held at
The Grill Works Deli & Catering to
support The Woodlands AIDS Task
Force. Donated works of art were
auctioned to raise funds for this event.
Our Vision
The Woodlands will be recognized for providing effective and efficient services which are
responsive to community needs and trends. We will provide these services in a fiscally
responsive manner from agency owned facilities. Our well-trained and well-supported staff
will demonstrate our mission to the children and families we are privileged to serve.

New Beginnings provided emergency
shelter to 68 women and 71 children
 Family Connections Center provided 389
supervised visitations.
1,152 person received Domestic Violence education presentation

In 2009 The Woodlands organized new groups
to meet the growing needs of consumers of
mental health services and specialized
populations
Mental Health NOS Group
A general mental health group focusing
on positive coping skills for adults
Rise Group
A group for adult women who are
survivors of childhood sexual abuse
Hope Group
A depression therapy group focusing
on support and coping skills for adults
Anger Management Group
12 week program using a Cognitive Behavioral
Approach designed for adults who would like to
improve their ability to manage anger
Jumping Jake Club
A 10 week group for children between the ages
of 5-10 years who have been diagnosed with
ADHD with an education group
meeting co-currently with their parents
 897 children in 10 schools received services
provided by 3 credentialed social workers



57 adults participated in anger management groups
624 parents attended Helping Children Succeed after Divorce Seminar
62 individuals completed the 6 week Progressive Parenting Program
“The progressive parenting class has helped me to get to know my
daughter more. We have really started to open up to each other.”
