HYDROPHOBIC ACRYLIC GLISTENING

HYDROPHOBIC ACRYLIC
GLISTENING-FREE IOL
PODEYE: GLISTENING-FREE
HYDROPHOBIC ACRYLIC IOL
Most of the hydrophobic IOLs on the market are developing glistenings after
implantation which can impact on the vision quality.
Glistenings are favored by:
• the cast-molding process (compared to
lathe-cutting process)
• environment changes (dry conditioned and
implanted in an aqueous environment)
• the lack of control of water content
PodEye glistening-free.
Another hydrophobic IOL
with glistenings.
PodEye is guaranteed 100% glistening-free thanks to:
• the lathe-cutting process instead of the
cast-molding process
• its packaging in water to avoid medium
changes during implantation
• the control of water content in the material
at the equilibrium
The combination of material and design will likely contribute to low PCO rates and
optimized in-the-bag biomechanical stability 1

INJECTION SYSTEM FOR MICROINCISION
PodEye can be implanted through a 2.0 mm incision with the Medicel Accuject injector.

The new Microwaves Technology limits the tendency of the hydrophobic haptics to stick
together during injection.
