Christmas on A Great Street
For a riverside Christmas, head down
to Clarke Quay. Besides the numerous
nightlife venues and watering holes,
there are tons of activities as well,
including performances by carollers,
a market with Christmas-themed
souvenirs and grand fireworks displays.
Sure it’s a bit touristy, but where else
can you go for lights like these? For
the annual Christmas celebration on
Orchard Road all the malls are decked
out in festive decorations. Plus there are
the customary street performances and
activities each evening.

Marina Bay Singapore Countdown is
the quintessential New Year countdown

And of course, the event kicks off the
year-long series of events celebrating
Singapore’s 50th birthday.
Dec 31. Marina Bay, www.
marinabaycountdown.sg
For last year’s countdown, the sky-high
nightlife venue organized a carnivalthemed celebration complete with
theatrical performances, and they’re
looking to go even bigger and bolder
this year. Details are still sketchy, but
there will surely be drink deals, DJs and
a guaranteed awesome view of the
fireworks over Marina Bay (price TBC).

Loof
For a (slightly) more laid-back year-end
celebration, there’s one of our favorite
rooftop bars. Last year, the party was
fueled by popular DJ Tyler Made’s hiphop and soul mash-ups/re-ups. Again,
not many details yet for this year, but
you can probably bet on their quirky
selection of cocktails and pretty good
views of the fireworks (price TBC).
