Acoustic and Electric Guitar,
Beginning Level 1 with Vocals
Does your child love music and want to learn
how to play the guitar and/or sing? Is he/she
ready to play for the NBA World Champion
San Antonio Spurs? Students will learn how to
play a popular song using easy fundamental
music theory that makes playing the guitar and/
or singing a lifetime of fun. This class will get
them off to a great start by teaching the right
techniques, basic chords, and timing. Students
will have the opportunity to do a performance
for the NBA World Champion San Antonio
Spurs on April 5, 2015. Bring your guitar (not

This is a beginner class for students who wish
to learn to use a sewing machine and sew
beginner’s projects. Machines are provided for
each student in the class by Creative Sewing
Center. Machines may be purchased during
the class. Projects to be completed in the class
consist of a pin cushion, small travel pillow (the
pillow will be provided in the kit), and a lined tote
bag. A kit fee of $35 will be collected at Creative
Sewing Center before the first class from each
student, for projects listed above. Students will
be expected to provide their own scissors, pins,
seam ripper and markers. Students MUST be
at least 8 years old to register, no exceptions

challenging mix of aerobic gymnastics and
dance; Texas Youth on Parade is now making

North East Independent School District Driver Education has
been teaching teens for over 35 years. Successful completion of
the NEISD Driver Education program can result in a 15% discount on auto insurance. The full program includes 32 hours of
classroom instruction, a minimum of 14 hours in-car training and
requires 30 hours of driving documented by a parent/adult.

FOR ADULT CLASSES: We are proud to welcome and admit students 18 years of age and older and of any race, color, national,
or ethnic origin to all classes. Students under 18 will be permitted to register only with prior consent of the Instructor and Coordinator
and may be required to have an adult sign up with them. You do not have to be a resident of NEISD to take any of our classes.
FOR YOUTH CLASSES: We ask that you adhere to the age requirements listed in the course description. We do not allow
children to accompany adults to class, nor do we provide child care.
GENERAL INFORMATION—The Community Education Program of NEISD is conducted for the benefit and enjoyment of
community patrons. Classes are offered for people of all ages regardless of where they live. Classes offered are non-credit.
Financial support for the program comes from class fees. Classes are for adults only unless specifically noted.
REFUND POLICY—We are happy to refund tuition, less a $5 processing fee, when you cancel your class two full working
days prior to the first class meeting. If request for refund is made one working day prior to the first class, one-half refund will be
made. We are unable to refund any tuition money the day of or after the first class. Request for refund must be made by calling
Community Education at 407-0140 option 3. Instructors are not authorized to approve request for refunds.
DISCOUNTS—NEISD employees or NEISD resident who are 65 or over with a Senior Star Card are entitled to a 20% discount
on most Community Education classes that cost $25 or more.To obtain a Senior Star Card call the office of the Superintendent
at 407-0556. Discounts must be taken at time of registration and apply to employees and Senior Star cardholders only, not family
members.
CANCELLATIONS—If we cancel your class, you will receive a full refund by check or credit on charge card. Registrants will be
notified by e-mail or phone if class has been canceled. Refer to “Refund Policy” above if you wish to cancel your class.
CONFIRMATION of registrations will not be sent. You will be contacted only if a class is canceled or is already full when your
registration is received.
RETURNED CHECKS—A fee will be charged for each returned check.
SUPPLY/FOOD FEES—Some classes have a supply fee which is payable to the instructor at the first class. This fee is in addition
to the class fee, which is paid to Community Education and is noted in the class description.
POLICIES—North East Community Education reserves the right to change class instructors when necessary. North East Community
Education also reserves the right to refuse enrollment to participants with a history of unacceptable behavior.
INSTRUCTORS—We make every effort to ensure that instructors are knowledgeable in the subject that they are instructing, but the
views, opinions, and beliefs discussed by the instructor do not necessarily reflect the opinions of North East Community Education.
