It is funded by Sport England. 1 The programme in more detail – from the Sport England bid 1. Recruitment: we will work with local schools and Hertfordshire University to identify young people aged 16-25 to become involved in the project. 2. 2. Leadership: our beneficiaries will have the opportunity to obtain nationally accredited leadership awards. This will teach skills such as organisation, team work and management, essential attributes to enhance a young person’s development. We will also provide first aid qualifications and relevant insurance, to enable our volunteers to be able to deliver sessions now and in the future. 2 The programme in more detail - 2 3. Physical Activity: our beneficiaries will also participate in high quality physical activity. This will reduce health risks associated with an inactive lifestyle such as obesity and cardio-vascular disease. 4. Healthy Living: during sessions, healthy living messages will be delivered including the benefits of regularly engaging in physical activity and eating a healthy, balanced diet. We will also provide education on the dangers of alcohol and substance misuse, allowing our beneficiaries to make more informed choices in the future. 3 The programme in more detail - 3 5. Under 16s will be mentored by a volunteer aged 18+. 6.
