2014 is a year of turbulence in Hong Kong. Differences in social values have resulted in
unprecedented challenges faced by Hongkongers.
The Financial Services Interest Group (FSIG) is proud to have invited Mr. Stephen Wong (黃元山先
生) as the guest speaker at its annual cocktail reception. Mr. Wong will share his insights into how
Hong Kong may reshape its social values to address the issues brought by these unprecedented
challenges. This is also a good opportunity to meet and mingle with fellow CPAs at the start of 2015.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Mr. Stephen Wong (黃元山先生) is currently an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Hong Kong
University SPACE for the Institute for China Business and an Adjunct Lecturer at the Chinese
University of Hong Kong for the Master of Social Science in the Global Political Economy.
Stephen is a renowned economic columnist for Hong Kong Economic Journal Monthly, Hong Kong
Economic Times, i-Money Magazine, Ming Pao, Apple Daily and the China Securities Journal. He
is the Vice Chairman of Enrich Culture Group and has published two best-selling finance
publications. Stephen is also a regular guest co-host for financial programmes in RTHK, NOW and
Cable TV.
Stephen is active in community services, including as the Chairman of Clean Air Network, and has
been appointed by the HKSAR Government in various consultative positions, including the
committee member of the Financial Services Development Council.
Stephen was the Managing Director and member of the Fixed Income Management Committee
(Asia Pacific) at RBS. He held the position as the Head of Structured Credit Derivatives and
Alternatives (Asia Pacific). Previously, he was with UBS (London) as an Executive Director and
Lehman Brothers (from 1997 – 2004 in London and New York) as a Director. He was also an
Advisor to the Chief Executive of Haitong International Securities Group.
Stephen graduated from Yale University (M.A.) and received a B.A. in Economics from the
University of Chicago.

Notes:
1. Enrolments are accepted on a first-come-first-served basis with priority given to FSIG members.
2. Full payment must be made before your application will be processed. No telephone reservation will be accepted.
3. The closing date for enrolment is 19 January 2015. However, the Institute has the discretion to accept late applications as it sees fit.
4. Successful enrollees will receive confirmation on or before 21 January 2015 by email whereas unsuccessful applicants will receive full refund by
mail.
5. Unless the event is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances or bad weather, no refund for withdrawal will be given after the enrolment has been
processed. The enrolment is non-transferrable.
6. Bad weather arrangement: The event will be cancelled if typhoon signal no. 8 or above / black rainstorm warning is hoisted, as announced
by the Hong Kong Observatory, at or after 2:30 p.m. on the date of event. In the event of bad weather, the admission fee will be refunded.
7. The Institute reserves the right to change the venue, date and / or speaker and topic of the event due to unforeseen circumstances.
