CIVICO MUSEO PARISI ‐ VALLE Comune di Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca (Va) ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ press release “Era” exhibition of Giuliana Storino, winner of Premio Maccagno 2013 December 21, 2014 – February 22, 2015 Saturday December 20 at 5:00 pm, our museum will present the exhibition “Era,” with works by Giuliana Storino. This is a tribute to the winner of the fifth edition (2013) of “Premio Maccagno” (Maccagno Awards). Giuliana Storino was born in 1986 in Manduria (Taranto). She got a first and second level degree in Paiting at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. She has taken part in many national and international exhibits and won several awards. She currently lives and works in Milan. After working so much on figurative art, she has now come back to abstract art. Shape and matter are interpreted by a unique personality, and the observer’s emotion will be free to imagine situations and feelings in motion when looking at her works. It’s only been a year, but it feels like a century – so many things have changed in these twelve months... our town has become “Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca” after it merged with the other two comuni that were, up to a short time ago, entirely autonomous. The Maccagno Awards annual event will now have to change skin in order to mirror this change. It will, therefore, take a break and will come back with a new, innovative identity in the future. This year there are many innovations in the way the museum is managed, such as technology that has set it free from the burden of papers, and a management that is more open to our territory and closer to the public, who have rewarded our efforts with their approval and support. This is the starting point for a 2015 that will give us all new intuitions and discoveries built on the positive experiences we’ve lined up so far, thanks to all those who have worked with enthusiasm and patience. “With ‘Era’ and Giuliana Storino – says the mayor of Maccagno con Pino e Veddasca, Fabio Passera – we sail towards new islands of imagination and fantasy, which an administrator must always keep alive in his daily tasks and duties towards the territory. This must be done with a smile and the cheerful heart of someone who knows that Culture means, first of all, letting the spirit fly towards the future. We might make mistakes along the road, but we will always be sure that we’re working for the good and growth of our fellow citizens and those who see our museum as an important point of reference for Art and the joy to be together.” The exhibit will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 10:00 to 12:00 am, and from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. It will end on Sunday, February 22, 2015.
