Tour operators from America, China, Finland,
France, Italy, Latvia, Poland and Russia (to
name but a few) enjoyed an informative
and action-packed weekend at the hotel.

The tourism initiative was the brain-child
of the hotel’s General Manager, Mark
Tobin and actively supported by Visit
Somerset, Visit England, the Wells Civic
Society and over 20 of the counties main
visitor attractions. A date has already been
agreed for a similar event at the hotel in
October 2015!

arrival of our international visitors to Wells
Mark’s message
During my 20 years at the hotel
I have been privileged to be
involved in a multitude of
amazing events, but the last
few weeks have been among
the most rewarding that I can
remember. The hotel has
attracted an amazing amount
of positive publicity – not bad
for an old girl approaching 600
years of age!
Taking centre stage was Destination Wells
and the Somerset Tourism Expo, the
biggest tourist event that the county has
seen. Tour operators from around the world
flocked to the hotel to enjoy a weekend that
showcased the region as a destination
worthy of any overseas tour. Feedback from
all those involved was so overwhelmingly
positive that an even bigger event is
planned at the hotel in 2015.
The hotel also starred in a prime time
national TV advertising campaign by Best
Western. You might have seen us on ITV3.
Lights, camera, action!
A warm welcome

our bedroom refurbishment programme
gets underway. If you would like to keep

Our new hotel video is available to

Snowball, our resident cat, probably
steals the show!
Gentlemen (and ladies) the
14th February falls on a

a very good excuse not to
celebrate the occasion.

using local produce. Our new menus
have been very well received.
