Dear Parents and Children
SCHOOL CHRISTMAS SERVICE AND NATIVITY
I am sure you will agree that the School Christmas Service was a wonderful gathering of our community. The children in
foundation stage provided the cast to tell the story and were supported by each class who provided a supporting piece to
bring the true message of Christmas to all of us. Thanks again to all the children, and to all of you who
came to support them on Wednesday. The collection to support Dienabou in Senegal raised £144 which will
enable us to continue to sponsor her education for another year. Thank you.
Also thanks to the team at St Andrew’s Church for providing refreshments before the service, and to the
PCC for allowing us to use the church.
A CD of the photographs and a DVD of the service will be available after the Christmas holiday. Please
place your order on the slip already sent home, or send a note into school with your order (£5 per CD, £5
per DVD or £8 for both – payable to St Andrew’s Church School). You can order up until Wednesday
14th January, following which the order will be sent to Digital Data Ltd who produce the CD’s and DVD’s
for us.
TEAM POINTS TROPHY AND ATTENDANCE CERTIFICATES
Today in assembly I was pleased to present 100% attendance certificates for this term to nearly 100 children, and the

BADMINTON COUNTY FINALS

The Year 5/6 team played in the County Finals at Millfield School on Monday. They played very well and were placed 6
in the County. Thank you to all parents who supported the team and also to Mr Green for his coaching.
Important Information Concerning The Admission Arrangements For
St Andrew’s Church School, Taunton
Notice of a statutory Admission Arrangement Consultation
In accordance with the 2012 School Admissions Code notice is hereby given that the Bath and Wells
Multi Academy Trust (the Admission Authority) in conjunction with the School Governing Body
proposes to alter the admission arrangements applying to St Andrew’s Church School for the 2016/17
academic year.
A statutory admissions consultation will commence on 18th December 2014 and will end at 4 pm on 23rd
February 2015. You are invited to view the proposed 2016/17 Admission Arrangements on the school
website and to submit any comments during the consultation period using the email link provided below
or by writing to the School Office. A paper copy of the arrangements can be provided upon request.
The proposed 2016/17 admission arrangements aim to reflect the statutory responsibilities of the
admissions authority for the school and to embed local procedure that is fair and reasonable in practice.
The school converted to academy status in September 2013 and the Local Authority admission
arrangements in place at that time must apply until September 2016. Please note: that the proposed
2016/17 admission arrangements are considerably altered. Your attention is especially drawn to:



The proposed oversubscription criteria set out in Section 2.3
The removal of a designated catchment area for the purpose of prioritising school admission
The 2014/15 and 2015/16 admission arrangements are set out on the School website by way of
comparison.
The Governing Body will meet shortly after the consultation closes in order to consider any comments
received during the consultation period and a response will be sent to all those who contributed. A final
version of the 2016/17 admission arrangements will be published on the school website by 15th April
2015 following which no further alterations will be made unless for a matter of legal compliance.
