Nestus Monocle™ assistive furniture:
overcome dementia and mobility challenges in style
The Nestus Monocle™ assistive furniture collection was
conceived to help users overcome the challenges of
dementia or restricted mobility, but styled for any home.
The collection has been developed in tandem with older
adult groups in Edinburgh and follows the dementia
guidelines from the Dementia Services Development Centre
(DSDC), Stirling, to offer you a playful, quality engineered
alternative to traditional utilitarian ‘dementia’ furniture.
Together the pieces are designed to maximise your storage
space without compromising living space in your Nestus
Care Cottage™ and the modular form allows the pieces to be
installed, arranged and re-arranged in infinite possibilities.
Pieces can be purchased individually (min 5 pieces), per
room or for an entire home and custom coloured to suit your
tastes at no extra cost. Room packs are tailored to different
Nestus Care Cottage™ sizes for fully mobile or wheelchair
users. For best value choose a complete cottage pack.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
MATERIAL
18mm engineered cross-laminated ply in Birch
or Cherry.
Contrast coloured sections matt laminate (see
colours).
HARDWARE
Drawers: Blum Tandem - Austrian engineered,
feather-light guide steel drawer sliders, with soft
close function. Supporting 30kg in dynamic load.
Doors: Blum Bluemotion, all metal hinges with
soft-close function and 110 degree opening.
FITTING
Cabinets and shelves are wall mounted by
our team during installation inline with your
preferences, using rock-solid wall anchors. The
cost of fitting is included in the price for each
room installation.
Ongoing units can be easily moved and refitted
into a new position by a family member or our
services team.
COLOURS
We offer 3 standard, matt colour palettes, which can be
teamed with either our natural birch or cherry-stained
timber carcassess:
Neutral: White or Black highlight colours
Warm: Orange, Yellow & White highlight colours
Cool: Blue, Green & White highlight colours
Alternatively, if you have a particular colour you’d like,
we can customise your furniture with any shade from
the RAL colour range for a small additional fee. We can
help you pick them in person from a colour swatch
booklet.
