Home Visits in Surgery Hours
Home visits are available to our regular patients who
cannot make it to the surgery because of a
medical condition.
After Hours Home Visit:
Please call (02) 8724 6300 and tell them you are a
patient of Twinkle Medical Centre. If you have a valid
Medicare card you will be bulk billed for the home
visit.

Appointments
Appointments are preferred and each appointment
is for one patient only. Normal appointments may be
booked online or by phone. Please let the
receptionist know if you would like to book a long
appointment or if you need to book for additional
family members. Sometimes delays can occur due
to emergencies and other circumstances beyond
our control but we do our best to minimise your
waiting time.
If you are unable to attend your appointment please
phone to cancel so that we can offer that
appointment to another patient.
Telephoning your doctor
Our receptionists will take down your details and
advise the doctor of your call. The doctor will call
you back as soon as time permits.
Referrals
Referrals to a specialist may be made during the
consultation. Standard referrals are valid for one
year so please ensure you book an appointment
before your referral runs out.
Prescriptions
Prescriptions may be written during a consultation.
If you need repeat prescriptions, we ask that you
make an appointment to see one of our doctors,
where the condition for which the prescriptions are
written can be checked.
Results
The doctor or practice nurse will inform you when
your pathology results will be available. It is
advisable to book an appointment after that time to
discuss the results with your doctor.
Fees
The practice bulk bills for medical consultations.
Our receptionist can advise you of costs not
covered by Medicare.
Reminder System
Our practice is committed to preventative care. You
will receive reminder notices for health care
services appropriate to your care. If you do not want
this service please let the doctor know.

Management of your Personal Health
Information
Your medical record is a confidential document. It is
the policy of this practice to maintain security of
your personal Health Information at all times and
ensure this information is only available to
authorised members of staff.
Patients of our practice have the right to access
their personal health information under the Privacy
Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000.
Patients may request in writing for their health
records to be transferred to a GP at another
practice. For medico-legal reasons, our practice
retains the original record and provides the new GP
with a summary or a copy. A fee of $10 per patient
or $20 per family is charged for health records
copied onto disc. If you require paper copies the fee
depends on the size of the file. Please organise
payment at reception.
