As a former SMEF board member I have been asked to deliver to you the
enclosed petition for the removal of certain SMEF board members.
Enclosed you will find the recall petition and the KOTO membership list
as of October 16, with the names of the 40 signatory members
highlighted.
As a KOTO member, I have reviewed the petition and find that it
certainly has sufficient KOTO member signatures to constitute a valid
removal petition. Thank you for your consideration.
The members feel strongly that the recall ballot be sent concurrently
with the ballots for the forthcoming election for the four open seats on
the board. Doing so would save KOTO money, would help to avoid voter
confusion, and would help alleviate community exhaustion that might
be caused by receiving different ballots only weeks apart.
As the ballots are set to be sent November 3, the petitioners request that
the board address this issue before the November Board Meeting.
