LEG #1 Family Meals:
We are a retired couple with 3 adult children, all
married with two children each. We have 3
grandsons and 3 granddaughters. I was 21 when
my daughter was born. My husband and I were
getting used to be married and parents. We
loved being parents even if life got very
busy. My husband worked fulltime in the city
and we had a little farm and livestock. I stayed
home with the children for 16 years. We always
had our evening meal together and prayed before eating. We had a small window for the
evening to be together. We would sit down for
supper as soon as my husband came home and
he would take some time to play with the kids
and then would go outside to do the evening
chores. Often the kids were in bed by the time he
came in.
As they grew older they would help with the
chores. Meal time was often fun as everyone had
something to say about their day. Sometimes
not so much fun, for example one evening we
were having pork chops. My daughter had a
fondness for a pig she named Porky
Butch. There came a time he had to go to market. Her brother's teased her and said the Pork
Chops were from Porky Butch. She was not happy. Then one night my husband insisted one son
eat meat loaf. Not good, I’m surprised we didn't
see it coming out of his ears as he was trying so
hard not to swallow. --A married couple parishioners

A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD FOR GUARDIAN ANGELS SCHOOL, CHASKA
We want to inform our parishioners, school families,
neighboring parishes and other partners in Catholic Education that Guardian Angels School will be open for the
2015-16 school year and that we are not discussing closing our school. We are discontinuing our afternoon daycare program only. While we are making changes, there
is an engaging and energetic atmosphere in our school
and we are looking forward to a bright future and providing Catholic Education for many years to come. Enrollment for the next school year will begin in January,
please contact the school office for more information 952

MATTHEW 25:14-30
Did you look up this passage as I invited you to in the
December 7th bulletin? January 4-9, 2015 I will be attending the National Leadership Roundtable—Toolbox
for Pastoral Management in St. John’s Florida (bummer
location!). I want to learn how to be a better pastor. This
seminar was recommended to me by the archdiocese as
one means to assist in helping me to become a better pastor. Review information about the program at: http://
www.theleadershiproundtable.org/TLR/aboutus/
programs/toolbox.html. I will leave the covering priest’s
phone number on our answering machines for emergencies. Fr. Gregory
