The American Maine-Anjou Association has formed a three-tier performance program titled “The Commercial
Connection Program”. The formation of this program began two years ago with a small number of Maine-Anjou
breeders that were concerned about the need to continue to promote the performance aspects of the Maine-Anjou
breed. Its goal is to supply superior performance Maine-Anjou genetics to the commercial cattle industry. This
breed improvement program is designed to recognize performance data standards and identify the performance
merit of individual herds.
By becoming involved in this innovative program, you as a Maine-Anjou breeder can send a definite signal to
your customer base that your program is committed to continued data collection. This information will provide
your customers with the value added traits for increased performance and will help to enhance the marketability
of their Maine-Anjou genetics.
Dedicated progressive Maine-Anjou breeders that want to make a difference in the beef industry with their MaineAnjou genetics, can accomplish record setting heights for the breed. Two very important elements hold the key to
this collective effort of The Commercial Connection Program: DATA and PROMOTION!!!
Over and over again it has been proven that solid reliable DATA is necessary to attain a new level of acceptance
in the commercial industry. With each program that becomes a part of The Commercial Connection Program the
breed’s data base grows, not to mention the in-herd data story that you can convey to your customers. Most every
Maine-Anjou breeder that is a member of MAPP will fit into Tier One of the program.
The qualifying herds will receive an exclusive design tier logo showing their participation in the program and these
producers will be recognized annually for promoting the performance levels of their cattle through documented
data collection. Members must achieve the necessary criteria to attain the status of each tier before each tier’s
logo is issued.
This exciting new program will send a definite signal to your customer base that your program is committed to
data collection and will provide your customers with the value added traits for increased performance to enhance
the marketability of their Maine-Anjou genetics.
Two Key Elements of the Program:
1. MAPP herd involvement is required.
2. Important for producers to enter the program with an achievable level of production data.
This is a three-tiered program that re-establishes a focus on Maine-Anjou genetics and its relationship to calving
ease, birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, ultrasound data, scrotal and docility scores, EPD profiles
plus performance and carcass traits. It is each breeder’s choice to select a tier that works for them and be able to
change tiers at their discretion.

Sale Terms
& Conditions
Terms: Terms of the sale are cash
or check, payable immediately upon
conclusion of the sale and before
animals will be moved. Seller will reserve the right to require a certificate
check as settlement before releasing
any cattle.
Risk: All animals are the owner’s
risk prior to their sale and become
property of the purchaser as soon as
declared “sold” by the auctioneer (but
will be cared for at the purchaser’s
risk for a reasonable length of time).
Bidding: All animals sell to the
highest bidder. Any disputes or challenges regarding bids will be settled
by the auctioneer and his decision
will be final.
Health: All animals sell with
proper individual health certificates
making them eligible for transport to
most destinations within the U.S.
Announcements: Announce-
ments from the auction block will
take precedence over the printed
matter in this catalog.
Registry Certificates: All
animals shall carry papers from the
American Maine-Anjou Association. All papers will be transferred
and mailed to the new owner at the
consignor’s expense.
Shipping: Assistance will be
given in making shipment after the
sale, but no risk will be assumed by
the seller. Expenses incident thereto
are the responsibility of the purchaser,
who should furnish shipping instructions at time of settlement.
Breeding Guarantee:
Bulls: All bulls are guaranteed to
be breeders. It will be the responsibility of the buyer to have the bull
semen tested before he is turned
out with cows or before 15 months
of age, whichever comes first. If not
done, the seller is not responsible.
Any bull that has not proven himself a
breeder, the matter shall be reported

in writing to the seller within six (6)
months following the purchase or six
(6) months after the bull has reached
15 months of age. Seller will then
have the right or privilege of six (6)
months to prove the bull a breeder.
Any bull that has not proven himself
a breeder that is healthy and in good
condition may be returned to the
seller at the buyer’s expense. If the
bull should fail to prove a breeder, the
seller at his option, can return either
purchase price to the buyer or replace
the animal with another of equal
value in settlement and satisfaction
of all claims. In no event, shall the
seller be responsible for more than
purchase price. If the bull becomes
a non-breeder by reason of injury,
negligence or mismanagement, the
seller’s guarantee shall be void.
Liabilities: It is to be clearly
understood that the AMAA, the sale
manager and all their representatives
act only as a medium between the
buyer and seller. They are not responsible in any way for failure on the part
of the buyer and seller to live up to
his/her obligations to collect or enforce collections of monies between
parties. Any legal actions, that may in
exceptional cases be taken, must be
buyer and seller.
Accidents: Although every
precaution will be taken to protect the
safety and comfort of the buyers and
those attending the sale, the AMAA, or
seller, or sale manager do not assume
any responsibilities in the matter and
each disclaims any liability, legal or
otherwise, in the event of an accident
or loss of property.
Contract: The above terms and
conditions of sale shall constitute
a contract between buyer seller of
each animal and be equally binding
on both. Animals that are resold
following purchase in this sale shall
constitute a separate transaction
and the rights and obligations of the
two parties connected thereto are
not covered by these sale terms and
conditions.
