Your chance to have your say! Proposed Zebra Crossing on Coldharbour Lane Lambeth Council has received representations from local residents expressing concerns about the lack of a safe crossing point on Coldharbour Lane close to its junction with Loughborough Park. This means pedestrians, including pupils from Evelyn Grace Academy, are finding it difficult to cross this road safely to get to where they need to go. We have looked into these concerns and believe that the installation of a zebra crossing on Coldharbour Lane, at the junction with Loughborough Park and Shakespeare Road, would go some way towards meeting residents’ needs and reducing the perception of danger on this road. We would now like to know what you think. What is being proposed and why? Residents are concerned about the speed of vehicles along Coldharbour Lane and the lack of safe crossing points on this section of the road. The Council is therefore proposing to introduce a new zebra crossing on Coldharbour Lane just west of its junction with Loughborough Park and Shakespeare Road. We are also proposing to narrow the width of the entrances to Loughborough Park and Shakespeare Road, introduce side road raised tables and plant trees. In order to introduce the new zebra crossing, we will need to remove the 15metres (three car spaces) parking bay outside Commerce House, 258 Coldharbour Lane. How can I get involved? Please study the drawing, complete the questionnaire and return it to us free of charge by Friday 9 January 2015. Your views will help us to decide if we should make these changes.
