OFFICE OF THE ACADEMIC REGISTRAR ANNOUNCEMENT FOR HEST (AfDB V) PROJECT – MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS FOR NEEDY STUDENTS FOR 2014/2015 ACADEMIC YEAR. Busitema University is one of the AfDB (V) HEST beneficiary Institutions being supported in the areas of infrastructural and human resource development. The Merit based scholarships for needy students is one of the Sub-Components under the 4 year GoU Secured Loan from AfDB (V) HEST funded programme (2013/14 – 2017/18). The scholarships have been earmarked for NEEDY but BRIGHT students. Only Ugandan students preferably from rural Secondary Schools and not admitted on Ugandan Government sponsorship to any public university and not holding other scholarships are eligible to apply. Only Ugandan students below the age of 30 years may apply. Students under the loan scheme are not eligible. Application forms and other relevant information may be obtained from the Academic Registrar’s Office or can be downloaded from our Website www.busitema.ac.ug Completed application forms will be received from Monday, 29th Dec 2014 to Wednesday, 7th January, 2015 during working days from 9:30am to 3:30pm. No application fee is required. Applicants are required to attach a 500 word motivation / personal statement detailing justification for support, a copy of the admission letter to Busitema University, photocopies of all academic documents, three Passport size Photographs and a copy of the Birth certificate. Candidates are strongly advised against presenting falsified information and corruption tendencies. Any form of influence pedaling, impersonation, falsification of documents, giving false and incomplete information will lead to automatic disqualification of the application, cancellation of sponsorship and prosecution in the Courts of Law where applicable.
