University Residence Professor José Pinto Peixoto Learning and Living in LISBOn PRESENTATION Located in the east end of Lisbon, the 17 th Century Santos-o-Novo Monastery - classified as a National Monument – sits on a small hill by the river Tagus. The residence enjoys a privileged view of the river and is a short distance from the central railway station of Santa Apolónia, the traditional neighborhood of Alfama, downtown Lisbon, Terreiro do Paço, and also close to the new residential, commercial and service area of Parque das Nações. ROOMS AND COMMUNAL AREAS The residence offers rooms for 2, 3 or 4 people. All rooms have a bathroom with shower, and each guest has a single bed, a wardrobe and a desk. There are communal areas which contain the following facilities: laundry, sitting room with TV, games room, kitchen and dining room, internet and study room. For further information: [email protected] RESIDENCE SCHEDULE The Residence is open 12 months of the year and residents are entitled to accommodation, bed linen and towels throughout this period. At the start of the academic year, students should give the Residence 48 hours notice of their arrival, by phone or in writing. Students can leave and enter the Residence at any hour. This area is served by many buses, on which you can access many parts of the city, including the popular areas such as Terreiro do Paço, Marquês de Pombal, Rato and Saldanha. BUSES Calçada da Cruz da Pedra bus-stop: 706 (Estação Sta. Apolónia - Cais do Sodré); 794 (Estação do Oriente – Terreiro do Paço). Rua da Madre Deus bus-stop: 718 (ISEL/Alameda); 742 (Ajuda - Bairro Madredeus). SUBWAY Santa Apolónia (around 550m). THE FASTEST WAY TO GET TO ISCTE-IUL The quickest way to get to the campus from the Residence is to walk to Rua Madre Deus, take bus 742, getting out at Saldanha and then catching the subway to Entrecampos station. However, there are alternative routes you can take.
