OUR CLIENT’S CHALLENGE
Rock Square is an upscale shopping complex, the
largest shopping mall situated in Haizhu district of
Guangzhou, China’s 3rd largest city. Consisting a total
area of 120,000m², the mall provides for 5 stores and
features the latest in contemporary retail and leisure
facilities, including a diverse mix of speciality retail,
restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, a state-of-the-art
multiple cinema and family entertainment centre. The
client approached EC Harris when the project had
stalled mid-construction, with significant costs already
spent and an environment of continuing delays and
unsafe working practices. EC Harris was appointed to
control, help realise value for the client and drive the
project to successful completion.
POSITIVE OUTCOMES
1.Working with the client to identify risks and appropriate opportunities via strategic technical due diligence to ensure all risks were mitigated through a combination of process, procedure and behavioural change.
2.Working closely with the client and other advisory teams in winning the bidding competition and effectively conclude the Sales Purchase Agreement with the aggressive Chinese developer.
3.Helping the built asset performance improvement during the comprehensive completion inspection and built asset handover process management.
4.Bringing together our integrated solution in adding values to the client in terms of feasibility study, design management, project management, cost and commercial management, tenancy coordination and additional alternation works.
