A little bit about us Pixel Dot is an independent graphic and web design consultancy, with offices based in London and the South West, UK. Officially founded in 2014 by friends, Barney Stephens and Helen Wright, Pixel Dot work for a wide range of clients across various sectors; from start-ups to established companies, musicians to hedge funds. Between us, we have over 14 years experience in the graphic design industry; Barney is an expert in all things digital, whereas Helen’s strengths lie in branding and design for print (hence Pixel Dot!). We love to work in close collaboration with our clients, ideally right from the start – believing that the best work comes from great communication and a relationship that is built to last. Over the years we have established a strong network of specialists, such as photographers, illustrators and web programmers. So no matter what you need, we’ve got it covered – and neither of us are shy of learning new skills. James Rhodes James Rhodes is a famous concert pianist, known for his quirky style and rebellious attitude towards the classical music industry. James asked Pixel Dot to develop his existing website to incorporate a content management system (CMS), increase responsiveness and feature new functions including a news page and a shop. We rebuilt the site from the ground up, refreshing it’s style with updated graphics and typography. It is fully responsive to support the high-volume of traffic James receives and is based on WordPress, enabling him to update it with ease. “I was looking for a complete website overhaul - design, build and management and Pixel Dot exceeded my wildest expectations. They came in on time and on budget, were available out of office hours for urgent tweaks and are consistently professional, good value and proactive. Superb.” – JAMES RHODES, PIANIST jamesrhodes.tv Flubit Flubit is a London-based tech firm which offers buyers lower prices for any product they want to buy online. They approached Pixel Dot when they first started, looking for an identity that would match their cheeky, disruptive style of business. We worked closely with them to create an entire suite of marketing materials and brand assets including the logos, a letterhead, business cards, newsletters and comps slips. We were also asked to design the first version of their website and platform. Flubit has since gone on to take the e-commerce world by storm and is now considered one of the top e-commerce sites in Europe. “Pixel Dot was key to Flubit’s early success, and the identity they created has become a huge part of who we are today. They instantly understood who we were and what we stood for.” – BERTIE STEPHENS, FOUNDER AND CEO flubit.com Cornelian Capital Cornelian Capital is a London-based investment firm that specialises in the East African frontier market and real-estate markets of developed countries. Cornelian Capital wanted a website designed and built with the user in mind, this meant ensuring that the site was fully responsive and easy to update in order to improve its accessibility for current and potential investors. By working in close partnership with the client, a content management system (CMS) already favoured by the team was incorporated to allow their immediate and unassisted use of the site. The final design, developed to compliment the company’s existing logo, brand, and colour palette, was a clean, simplistic and smart product. “Barney and Helen designed and implemented our entire site. They understood our needs and the ethos of the firm and this has come through perfectly in the site they created. We have very much enjoyed working with them, finding them both professional and understanding. As and when we need updates and changes I will certainly use Pixel and Dot.” – FREDDIE TUCKER, ANALYST PROJECTS MANAGER corneliancapital.com Marshfield Farm Ice Cream Dawn and Will of Marshfield Farm in Wiltshire have been making ice cream for the last 25 years. The family-run business, which started out with a small herd of 50 cows back in the 1970’s, now produces delicious ice cream for sellers all over the world. Pixel Dot have worked closely with Dawn and Will to update their marketing materials to incorporate their recently updated logo and typographic style. Our priority was to ensure that their client-facing collateral represented their product as high quality, without losing sight of Marshfield’s friendly persona. “It’s always a pleasure working with Pixel Dot. They seem to know exactly what I’m looking for - often before I really know what it is that I want! Helen and Barney get a grasp of the task right away, then simplify my thoughts into a coherent and fabulous design creation. We really have had so many positive comments from customers on the designs that they have done - they’ve been a great find!” – DAWN HAWKING, OWNER marshfield-icecream.co.uk Tea Times Trading Tea Times Trading Ltd.’s three flagship brands Tick Tock, Dragonfly, and Eleven O’Clock are rooted in an unbroken family tradition of tea expertise that dates back to the 19th century. The challenge was to unify Tea Times Trading’s three distinct sub-brands into one booklet, whilst still reflecting their unique look and feel. The resulting brochure was made up of three tabbed sections, each representing a different brand. This clever design allowed customers to instantly access each section from the first page, rewarding readers with an engaging experience. “We’ve worked with Barney and Helen lots over the last year on our two major brands - Tick Tock and Dragonfly Tea. They are a great duo! From a super-urgent trade brochure, to web banners, newsletters, and lots of printed materials, they’ve both been brilliant to work with. They are organised, efficient, reliable, creative and patient (we are constantly changing our minds!) - I always know I am in safe hands when working with them. They are also really kind in giving general advice to me too!” – ROSANNA MAYHEW, MARKETING dragonflytea.com ticktockteas.com The Peninsula Residences The Peninsula Residences is an impressive new property development in Tanzania, Eastern Africa. Owed to the trusted reputation of the project’s developers, Cornelian Capital, the apartments have been snapped up by large oil and mining companies operating in and around the African Great Lakes Region. In order to appeal to The Peninsula Residences’ affluent international clientele, the identity for the development needed to combine western quality with traditional African influences. Nature, Tanzanite and Architectural themes were explored, with the final design taking inspiration from the ornate carvings of Zanzibar’s Stone Town. These intricate decorations were developed into a single elegant logo mark and subsequently adapted to produce a supporting pattern. The PE N IN S U LA RESIDENCES By Cornelian Get in touch...
