EU strategy to double the economic value of

• The European Union’s policy focus on
semiconductor manufacturing is supporting
investment in strategic growth areas with
the aim of doubling the economic value of
semiconductor manufacturing in Europe.
With a commitment of 10 bn EUR publicprivate investment and 100 bn EUR from
the industry, the EU strategy will create
significant opportunities for equipment and
material suppliers over the coming decade.
Increased investments in 2015:
3.8 bn US$ equipment sales forecasted
• The European market is poised to grow in 2015, with equipment
sales growing from 2.4 bn US$ in 2014 to 3.7 bn US$ in 2015,
according to SEMI forecast.
