oregon symphony 2014

oregon symphony 2014-2015 season
Here’s what a few of last year’s
patrons had to say about their
Oregon Symphony experience.
14/15
“We left thoroughly moved and uplifted, feeling as though
we had witnessed something momentous!”
C . O . , P o rt l a n d
“I sat on the edge of my seat and cried over
the beauty of it all! Exquisite!”
Z . J. , P o rt l a n d
“We just loved the whole experience.
I left feeling inspired, joyful,
and deeply moved. Thank you!”
M. C., Beavert o n
“You have to experience the symphony.”
K. L ., bend
What will you
say after your
experience?
Music makes life all the more
enjoyable, especially when it’s
being created right before your
very eyes! We love making
music just for you.

– come sparkling to life in this multi-media showpiece of Disney’s
marvelous movies, music, and characters.

Aarghh, mateys! It’s the Oregon Symphony’s merry band of pirates on
another swashbuckling adventure. The musical booty includes Handel’s
Water Music, Badelt’s music to Pirates of the Caribbean, Mendelssohn’s
Fingal’s Cave and Korngold’s music to Captain Blood.
Picture this, indeed! Pair up art works from the Portland Art Museum
with some of the most beautiful classical music ever written and you
have a feast for the eyes and the ears.

Clarinet Swing Kings
January 17 & 18
Dave Bennett, clarinet
Let´s Dance!
February 28 & March 1
Dave Bennett recently thrilled standing room only audiences in his
Benny Goodman concert. This time he returns with a few of his
friends to salute the Swing Era with some of the greatest music
ever written for the clarinet – the music of Artie Shaw, Jimmy
Dorsey, Woody Herman and, of course, Benny Goodman!
Peter and the Wolf
April 19
Magic Circle Mime
You’ll be dancing in the aisles when six dancers, two vocalists and
the entire orchestra light up the Schnitz with a dazzling display
of your favorite dances and dance music – the Waltz, Cha Cha,
Tango, Swing, and more!
Three musicians and a conductor’s assistant must outwit the fearsome
wolf that threatens orchestra and audience alike (without upsetting
the maestro!). The renowned Magic Circle Mime turns the Schnitz into
a theatrical setting and musicians into the characters of the story as
Prokoviev’s exhilarating musical tale springs to life, putting kids right
where they belong – on the edge of their seats.
All Kids Concerts last approximately one hour.

A splendid evening of classic film music and a
delightfully different who-dunnit murder mystery.
