Orchestra represents the continuation
of a tradition of orchestral music in Licking
County dating back to the 1930s. Under the
leadership of Musical Director Timothy Weiss,
this professional orchestra has gained critical
acclaim for extraordinary performances and
quality programming, becoming one of the
most respected musical ensembles in Ohio.
This year we begin our third season with our
Concertmaster, Andy Carlson, who has brought
incredible excitement with his strong and fiery style.
the newark-granville youth symphony,
under the direction of Susan Larson, offers young
musicians in Licking County the opportunity
to learn and perform classical music at the
highest level. This nationally recognized youth
symphony was the only youth symphony to
perform at the 2011 Capitol Music Festival
at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
our youngest ensemble, the newarkGranville Chamber Strings serves intermediate
performers. Under the direction of Newark
HS orchestra director Christopher Lape, this
beginning ensemble is building a foundation for
the next generation of string musicians.
We are proud of our part in educating the youth of
Licking County, a tradition we are able to continue
through your support. Thank You!
